How socially incompetent can you get? Like this guy just spends all day inside on his computer, looking up dumb stuff like horror stories and writing articles for a bad website. He just engages me in the most awkward conversations whenever we are around. I mean, like why even bother to try to understand where he is coming from, or to help him out- he is just that much of a loser. Another thing, he has awful taste in music, and he watches waaay to much anime. I just wish he would be more like me and get out of the dorm and do something useful once in a while. Like this is College, why doesn't he get out and hook up with some women or something like every other "normal" student- no he is just anti-social and never leaves his room. Ughh, it just angers me so much. I mean, isn't there anyone that will talk to him, or engage him in some sort of activity? I mean I'm a nice guy, but I'm too busy/lazy to do it. Sorry, just had to get that rant off of my chest- and yes the snoring does suck, I mean why the hell isn't everyone as perfect as I am? | ||

im chinese, kinda socially awkward, and talk so little that my voice sounds weird when i actually use it... me and my roommate are completely different, different interests/etc. we dont have much to talk about but we hang out together and with the same people mostly. I would consider him a good friend though - i got his back and i hope he's got mine. | ||

did the iron + paper bag trick and got rid of the wax, however there were still oil spots (though hardly noticeable). i told him about it when he got home from work and he told me it was no problem he was returning the couch. another time his girlfriend (also a roommate) started yelling and essentially throwing a tantrum at me for not cleaning up a mess i made in the den (was my fault but did not warrant the reaction). i had just walked in the door with friends who were visiting from colorado and they were just standing there while she went at me. i felt very embarrassed (i was only 18 at the time). same house, girlfriend's mom moves into the basement about 6 months into the lease. she cant pay rent (no money) so she offers to clean the place as her rent. at the end of the month i get a bill for cleaning supplies that she bought to clean the house. turns out she was a distributor for some MLM company that sold cleaning supplies (organic/not animal tested/hippie shit), and bought the cleaning supplies through them. they were about 3x as costly as going to wal mart (not to mention i shouldnt have to pay for the supplies, it was part of the rent). i just made a decision to let the crazy people be crazy and just accept that. fights between roommates tend to be over stupid shit anyway. just be thankful you arent living with a girl (nightmare to live with......). im living solo right now, but if i had to get a new roommate, i would probably choose a gay guy, for obvious reasons. | ||

This is a massive step up from my previous housemate, who, after months of passive-aggressive bitchery, decided she couldn't stand to live with me anymore after I didn't adequately (to her standard) clean the stove-top one day, left, and subsequently threatened to sue me when it wound up taking 6 weeks to replace her instead of a month. This was made all the more awkward by working in the same office space at the university. Some months later, we're on speaking terms and even a bit friendly (to even my own surprise), but goddamn, never again. That all sounds ridiculous, I know, but I couldn't make that shit up if I tried. | ||
