EtherealDeath United States8366 Posts March 04 2010 17:46 GMT #1 You attempt to hit C + click gateway repeatedly while playing SC1. T_T. I can just feel my SC1 acclimation going away...slowly... but steadily. By the way, you know how people have been saying that SC2 looks ridiculous to watch, lots of clutter and all. Well, funny enough, it still looks cluttery to me while watching online, but not while playing. Not sure why. I've gotten used to the look of things we playing (although gathering information from the screen is definitely a more subtle art than it is in SC1, where things were immediately apparent from day 1). I think it might be required to stream the game at HD, which is pretty sad since only my desktop would be useful for this, and I like to use my desktop to program or whatnot if I am watching a stream on laptop. Dunno if this is a good thing or not, if viewing experience is just bad at non HD streaming levels. Anyways, cheers to chrono boost! Navane Netherlands2748 Posts March 04 2010 17:59 GMT #3 You play sc at 1024 or higher and watch it online at 640 with some jpeg-like filter. Of course it looks better when you play it. That was the whole beauty of sc1, since it was sprite based the graphics stay good when mangled trough some broadcasting filter.

merz Sweden2760 Posts March 04 2010 19:09 GMT #5 I'm not sure I agree. I've played 200+ games now and I usually know whats going on in the battles UNLESS i'm playing a mirror matchup. Like PvP, 150+ vs 150+.. how the fuck are you supposed to tell your units from his.. :/

EtherealDeath United States8366 Posts March 04 2010 19:12 GMT #6 The battles are clear when I'm playing, just not when I watch online (except at 1920x1080). Granted, I can't say that I've played much PvP, but now that you mention it, the coloring could make that quite difficult.

Southlight United States11768 Posts March 04 2010 19:20 GMT #8 Maybe it's my lack of significant protoss-hours in SC1, but I tended to have trouble distinguishing zealots in SC1 in PvPs, too.
