Since I'm betting on TSL, and I saw many others doing so lately, I think releasing real dates when games are played, should be considered, just to avoid any suspicious betting action going on, and keep things really professional.
Everyone knows there are replays on stream, and for example Rekrul said IdrA/NonY will be played a lot earlier than the stream date, which makes anyone who want to make a bet really worried about it.
I can imagine close friends of TSL players to know the results before stream goes on, and even if none of them will make a thread here on tl.net with the results, some of them will spread the results to some more friends, clan members, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them will try to get some betting action vs someone who doesn't know the game was played already.
Just to make it clear, this has nothing to do with Rekrul or Zephyr's latest betting blogs; I think they are 100% fair.
If all this feels exaggerated, probably you have no plans to bet anything during these 2 days, so I included a "I don't care" option.

I brought this up in one of the threads and got a lot of hate for it. While I sincerely doubt that anything is going on currently, but if it becomes popular more and more people will offer bets and could eventually lead to somebody offering a bet after hearing from one of the players who won.

dude, are you retarded?

tsl operates for whats good for tsl and doesn't care about anyones silly bets

if you don't trust the people you want to bet with 100% then don't do it, what is so hard to comprehend about that
why so 진지해?

This is really stupid, it's not the purpose of the TSL to please betters.
Reporting the exact times when players play would not only be a lot of work but it would also be prone to inaccuracies.
Just make the bet really early with someone you trust...

Yeah, they probably aren't going to release dates for side bets... I wouldn't bet serious money on something like this.

Sorry Rek but I think your wrong, TSL operates to create exciting starcraft games for the community sure, but a large part of their focus will be on creating small on the side gambling opportunities like this and I would be very suprised if it is not a very great concern of theirs. Even the sponsorship is designed with these types of activities in mind.

I think TSL cares about their viewers, and that includes people who like to bet on TSL matches.
While I stated a reason for why they should release the real dates, you came here and call me a retard for no reason. Just tell me why wouldn't they let us know the real dates?

What do you think about my idea?
I'm not saying Rekrul or Zephyr are doing something fishy here, but someone said Idra/Nony will be played tomorrow and there's a looong time until it's streamed.
As I said, I can imagine close friends of TSL players to know the results before stream goes on, and even if none of them will make a thread here on tl.net with the results, some of them will spread the results to some more friends, clan members, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them will try to get some betting action vs someone who doesn't know the game was played already.

I wonder if TSL admins would consider letting people know the real date of games.

Revealing real date of games would provide nothing while inviting massive amounts of harassment on players and TSL officials for results.

The real dates of play aren't necessarily set in stone, I don't believe. It seems to me that it's simply an unnecessary effort to deal with such things. TL has nothing to do with who you make bets with, with the exception of the most important bet of all, liquibet.

Obviously Rekrul and Zephyr wouldn't do this KNOWING who won. Because to be honest, is their entire reputation worth a measly $2500? Especially since Rekrul (and Zephyr im assuming) make a lot more playing poker?

They are just doing this to create more excitement on top of what the TSL already provides, and like pachi said in the other thread, it would create constant harassment for the players with people asking how they did and crap.

Clearly didn't think this through did you cyclone?

Sorry but can you just read my post before commenting on it? .... As I said: "Just to make it clear, this has nothing to do with Rekrul or Zephyr's latest betting blogs; I think they are 100% fair.".

Regarding the people insisting more on admins/players if they knew the real date, yes I know that, but that's pretty much the only negative aspect of it. Even then it's not such a big deal because how exactly will this happen? Will random people start spamming Nony on MSN or phone call him for results? Will they create threads on teamliquid asking for results? Will they spamm the admins on irc? there's always a "ban" option for bad mannered people, and most of them don't want the results spoiled, unless they want to use it in betting purposes as I described in this blog.

PS: can a TSL admin have a comment on this issue please?

Why are there a lot of new users making weird suggestions about TSL? :|

Why the fuck you need to know when players played, you're writing a book or what? What will be next, results before streams? God...

Similar to this idea, why not make the bets the instant you know the results from the previous rounds? Like say ...

(Z)(nl)ret > (Z)(tw)Sen
(T)(pe)Fenix < (Z)(de)Mondragon

(P)(ca)lefNaij > (P)(ua)White-Ra
(T)(us)IdrA > (P)(us)NonY

in less than 8 hours right?

So as soon as those games finish you make another thread with the bets and stuff and give peoplpe 24 hours to confirm and then close. Seems like the most logical way to solve this issue without revealing game dates right?

I guess you only read the title and have no clue what this is all about. Still you feel the need to reply it in a negative way. People like you make me sad.

Anyway, looks like this is going nowhere. I'm a bit tired of it already. Still waiting for a TSL admin opinion on it tho ...

For TSL the cons of this outweigh the pros by a huge margin. This is not something we will consider.

If anyone should worry about knowing the exact time, it's the betting sites, they're the ones who can get screwed over the most.

Your only job, as a betting person, is to consider the odds and bet if you like them.

Your suggestion that things should be 'professional' seems to rely on the assumption that TSL and the betting sites are somehow a part of the same project.

I voted no. There's no reason for TSL to release the dates. TSL isn't even involved in the betting...
