Yesterday I had such an awesome day at university! I didn't have much time to study as my work and other things (damn you internets) have been occupying me a bit too much. I come in over 4 hours late to the course (Sociology of Body), decided to skip it entirely and I'm just sitting in the hall and wait for it to end. People start coming out of the classroom 5 minutes before it ends, look at me puzzled and tell me that there's a final test in progress... I'm like WTF?! there's a final and I didn't know about it? I rush into the class and demand that I want to write it (not that I was prepared). I somehow manage to finish the test in this 5 minutes, scored 4/5. Damn I'm happy ^_^ Next was the Social Communication which turned out to be the final exam (T_T it was the first time I even went to this course), 7/29 people passed it and I was one of them (with just 2 people scoring 1 point higher than me). Can't even describe how happy/drunk I was after that. I love days like this!
Edit: Yesterday I also tried to watch an American Football game for the first time in my life (Super Bowl) so as a bonus for other Europeans here I did some reading apart from watching and came up with a brief list of differences between Rugby and AF (might come in handy if you want to watch the other game).

Maybe you should go to a harder school.

Wow, your university is a joke.
EDIT: Furthermore, there is nothing to brag about going to such a school.

I'm doing the weekend courses (with work and stuff) so that I'm attending univ only during the weekends and I have this huge blocks of classes (3 or 4 x 1h30min is the most common) which last from 8am to 8pm.
And this classes ain't all that easy, it's just I'm interested in this subjects so I already have the knowledge necessary to pass most exams (unlike some people who do attend the classes, lol).

A test in 5 mins? You are not in univ, most likely not even in highschool lol.

14 questions and only one of them being open? Come on... If it would be an essay or an oral exam then I wouldn't make it for sure.

So you did a 4 hour exam in 5 minutes? Haha, cool
4 hours late to class? Ugggh, doesn't your (not yours specifically as you don't seem to go) ass get sore during such long classes?
|
i never had a final exam that's out of 5 ._.
nor have i ever finished a final in 5 minutes
|

Not to hate, but it sounds like a community college in the US. Seriously.

I did the 30 minute test in 5 minutes. 4 hours before that were regular classes.
And to the guy above me: It's community colleges that are the best in Poland (studying is free). Private sector doesn't even come close.
Edit: Not to mention that sociology is rather easy after 3 years of philosophy and history.

The notes in Poland aren't A-F like in US. We have the range of 5-2 (2 being failed, 5 being very good, usually you need to score at least 60% on any test/exam to get 3. Oral exams are the exception here because you get to speak face to face with professor and he gives you note basing on the questions he asked you and your answers, this are usually rather broad questions where you need to elaborate on the subject a lot).

There's apparently a lot I don't understand about the Polish university system.

Congrats. 5/5 for a brag blog.

u got to take an exam after everyone finished??? that doesn't seem fair. so the professor didn't think for once that someone told you the answers on their way out might be why it took you 5 minute?
so many things wrong with this scenario

People are too selfish to give away the answers (if they know them). Also, I don't cheat and most of the university staff knows me from the past (I was a vice-president of a scientific group for 3 years or so) and most of them likes me so they let me undertake crazy things like that. It's more about showing them that you're interested in the subject and you have more knowledge on the matter than is required during the classes, be active and such. They remember you for that and are more inclined to give you extensions on some terms etc. if they know you can do it and trust you if you tell them that you couldn't do something on time due to whatever reasons. There's a couple of people on my year who always get the highest grades but they're "invisible" and professors don't remember them (so they're now trapped because they really don't have any leverage when they want to extend their terms etc.).

yea theres a huge problem with most unis in eastern europe. I dont know if its sillier anywhere else( not counting africa and some asian parts of russia and surroundings) Unless its a top notch state school or a famous uni you can basically do what manitou did and still succeed. Its simply atrocious. Funny part every eastern european thinks that their education is far superior to european/american. Theres barely any tests, no midterms, nothing. You basically go to the lectures where professor cares to check the list, skip everything else, prepare for 1-2 days for the finals and youre golden. Then reset your memory and proceed to the next one.

hah youre wrong, community college isnt like a uni, its like those "technical(or secondary) education" schools that you have. You cant even get bachelors degree if you graduated from community college.

You can do that on famous/best state universities too (I've got a lot of friends who did). After all, it's not about attending classes and other bullshit like that but more about your knowledge. If your knowledge of the subject is fine no exam can be possibly hard. Take for example statistics and probability course, it's one of the hardest during this semester (and people are failing it hard) yet I already did that in the past so I just read a bit about it in my free time instead of going to the classes and just show up during the midterms and tests and the professor has nothing against it since I do fine on this tests. I'm not saying you can do that with every course... There are some that you really want/need to attend as much as you can and learn for the whole semester to pass it. Similar situation is with most courses at medical university, but that doesn't concern me since I'm a humanist and if I can abuse the system to my advantage, I will.
Edit: To the guy above me. Sorry then. It seems I confused community college with state university

lol nice. university is so easy.
Rugby may be more hardcore than american football, but shinty is what real men play.

rofl n/c what kind of "university" (link pls) is that where you can just enter a room after people went out from writing an exam/test/whatever (first lol) and just say "hi i wanna do that test too, only 5 minutes left? np" (second lol) and the prof is like "oh yeah cool buddy np, sit down, here you go, lets talk about this while everybody is trying to concentrate"
i hope this is a fake if not, seriously there is something wrong with you and your "university" oh i have no idea when the final exam takes place, oh i just walk in and do it in 5 instead of 30 minutes and of top of that even get a very good result
yeah w/e

Rugby >>>>>>>>> American football. eZ edit: but England is such a lame team lol. Dallaglio and Moody edit2: i'm such a noob it is Strettle and Perry lol
From my experience uni is a fucking joke. It is all about cramming the last day before the finals and cheating.

sounds like a good class if they can test your knowledge of all the material in five minutes.

Well, I still have to go and individually show the professor that I have the knowledge from all the classes I was absent (90% of them in this case). Passing the final test doesn't automatically mean that I have passed the entire course and I won't get my final grade until I do.
|
I would never be able to pull a stunt like this. I go to Wesleyan in CT, and I would totally get my ass kicked by any test if I only have 5 minutes on it. I'm not sure if it's cool or unfortunate that you could finish in 5 minutes. All the same, congrats!
I'm really split on how to feel about this. lol

what kind of exam is that...
any sort of humanities exam at my school takes at least an hour to write, probably closer to 90 min.
how can you even show your knowledge in 5 minutes, even if you knew the material extremely well? you said it's a final, which in the US would be somewhere around a 10 page exam.
|
Naah, it was just a test. 1 question for each subject we had during classes (the one I did in 5 minutes). The other one was longer obviously (2 hours).
|
5 minutes for 5 questions in a final exam for a humanities course and you get 4/5? what a joke. good on you for passing i guess...
|
Yesterday I had such an awesome day at US east! I barely had to do shit and I pwned noobs all day. Yay!
