In the spirit of the holiday seasons, I was specifically looking for a documentary that I saw during one of my history classes in high school. I recently found it on youtube, about a special truce during a war on the Western front in 1914 between the British and Germans. Bound by the common celebration of Christmas, both sides agreed to a truce for the duration of the event. Having built a sense of trust and friendship during that time through friendly activities, both sides were able to learn that the other side is also human and capable of suffering. The war had to continue, but I found the story very touching, at least during the parts where they shared Christmas. Here is the documentary:
