I think in proportions, I value intelligence more than looks (someone automatically appears more physically attractive to me when they are smart), but I couldn't go all or nothing on either. I also don't like the idea of controlling someone, which is a pretty horrible reason to want someone dumb. Do you really want a human being as a pet? + Show Spoiler + Giving a really dumb question a smart answer, but whatever =/ Pretty boring topic IMO if I just say one thing. Cute, smart, sane. Pick two. Poll: Cute, Smart, Sane: Pick Two (Vote): Cute, Smart (Vote): Cute, Sane (Vote): Smart, Sane Assume the other characteristic is mediocre. Not sane means she has some mental disorder that will occasionally ruin a family dinner or force you to run after her in the cold (but not like she'll kill you). Not cute means she's not bad looking, but she is lacking in whatever your favourite physical features are. Not smart means she's not handicapped, but you'll have difficultly talking about anything political or technical, and she isn't going to have a very high paying job. I would choose cute, smart, because I'm a bit crazy myself. Although I don't envy my kids. | ||

I think he's just giving an example. Like being able to tie one's shoes. Maybe GPA isn't a great measure of intelligence, but anyone with a brain is smart enough to put in a little effort so they don't waste their tuition fee. Actually now that I think about it more seriously I think that specific examples of being 'dumb' are almost unilaterally a bad way to judge someone. We all have something really dumb that we do. My mom struggles to put on her seatbelt for some reason. My sister sometimes gets her right and left confused, and can't do basic menial tasks with her hands, yet she can draw almost on par with Glider, and graduated Summa Cum Laude (in English lol). They are both successful romantically with my mom obviously having been married for decades and having kids, and my sister having a boyfriend of several years. Some people have issues that make them do very poorly in school even though they are smart and not crazy. My sister's bf hasn't graduated from college and he's one of the smartest people I know and isn't crazy at all; he probably has some 'issues' but that's different and we all have them in one way or another. | ||
