So here's a question: Can this computer run solidworks? "Dell Latitude D820 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, 15" WXGA+ Win XP Laptop - $350 (novato)" I think both my parents are abit out dated as they refuse to buy graphics card -_____- but dad is trying to settle for the crappiest computer than can run it for cheap. So of course I'm worried if the basic buildin graphic card would work at all... another question: I'm pretty sure you CAN run solidworks on vista as well, can anyone confirm?  | ||

You can run solidowrks on an intel core 2 duo. But not with 50 parts in an assembly. But even then, you can suppress subassemblies, so it will still be ok. Also it does work on vista, i've installed it myself. Remember if you have a 32 or 64 bit machine. | ||

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SolidWorks#System_Requirements + 20-50% of those minimum requirements if you want to run it smoothly. Seriously, it's not that hard. | ||
