eh you're only averaging a little over one hour a day to Law & Order. I wouldn't call that much of an addiction by any means, but try out for LSATs if you are interested. Some people are just good at it..

Criminal Minds is the best crime drama out there
Seriously, check it out now if you haven't already

Well, Law & Order is half crime investigation, half crime persecution. I like the persecution part (this relates to my interests to lawyers and law school)

You don't watch SVU? That's the best one imo.

I watched some SVU. The thing is, SVU is about detectives (Elliot and Bensen), while (half of) the original series is about persecution where people go to court. I find the part of the court hearing more interesting than the duo E&B and their werid relationship.

The later episodes definitely played off the E&B relationship too much, which is why I personally switched to CI, but the some of the earlier episodes were amazing. SVU brings up a lot of interesting issues and really screws with your morals.
In any case as long as you're not comparing it to the CSI crap, it's all good.

I'm in law school right now and I have to say, though I still love Law and Order, I take the lawyering/litigation part of the show much less seriously now. The most hilarious part is how judges give all their decisions on important motions on seemingly a whim, without explaining themselves at all.
Can we just talk about how fucking hot Alana de la Garza is? Thank god that blonde chick (her name on the show was…Serena Southerlyn?) is gone.

Alana de la Garza is in Season 19 and 20, as far as I know, as Cutter's assistant Connie. I love her xD
Defense Lawyer: Did you have sex with my client? Connie: Yes.
Although I do think the judges explain (at least to my ears) why they make the decisions - sometimes I don't understand what they say, though.
For example one time a judge mentioned the balancing test and I was like wtf??? So cut them some slack the producer doesn't want to give the majority of the audiences huge question marks on top of their heads.
EDIT: are you talking about Annie Parisse? Well...

Nope I was talking about this woman, apparently her (real) name is Elizabeth Rohm:
Her acting was subpar (even compared to the other actresses who have played the ADA's assistant…lol) and I never found her attractive. This role was made for a brunette.
Yep the only episode I've seen this season (set my Tivo to record all of em, but maybe that was the last of the season?) is the one where Connie has to admit to sleeping with that mafioso lawyer. That was a good episode, and of course the idea that she's willing to get involved with her colleagues makes her character even more intriguing.
The show really hit rock bottom in the 2006 season I think (that's when I stopped watching), between Detective Fontana and that blonde chick right there I really couldn't take it anymore. Not to mention that the writers decided to get annoyingly political with every single episode. But after watching that episode from the most recent season I became convinced that the show has had a renaissance. I love Sam Waterston as DA (seems appropriate given the show's history) and I even like the new detectives. Jury's still out on Cutter.

2006.... I have not seen that blond person so I guess I never watched that season. Good for me I guess :D
Speaking of detectives, it seems that they always want a black detective, who does all of the running, capturing, and other dirty works while the white guy just stand and watch. DX

Law school its so much fun!! You don't need good english skillz, just be a patent lawyer! Besides the LSAT isn't just about english, its about argumentation and logic games!

Mmm.... Maybe I will do some research on this. My main interest is still PhD/MD though.

You don't need good english skills for law school? I strongly disagree. All you do in law school is read and write.

I'm a L&O fanatic. I think I've seen every episode, bar a couple from the past two seasons.

My vote goes to Angie Harmon…something about that raspy voice…

Rohm's vocal inflection was what killed her, she always sounded flat.
The current SVU ADA is pretty good
but Connie's the most smokin' one in law and order history. She was partnered with Jack McCoy before Cutter. I'd say she had the most to do with reviving the franchise, she can act and she always has this aggressive edge to her.
The best detectives were Briscoe and Green. Lupo's solid. Cutter's solid, although McCoy on when he gets on his pulpit is untouchable.
SVU is ok, but it's more of a show driven by the detectives' characters.

Well, Alana is probably the hottest, but Angie Harmon is definitely a close second, and far above third place (probably Jill Hennessey?).

I'm not a huge fan of "DA McCoy", either.
