No pics guys, I managed to break my camera T.T

So the previous weeks goals were:
Goal 1:
Working out: 5x50 minutes swimming
CHECK, nothing to say really. I did what I was suppose to do.
Goal 2:
Eating better.
CHECK, I got a BUNCH of advice that helped me ALOT and this week I'm making my own bread
Goal 3:
Getting more active.
CHECK, I actually had one of my moms dogs at my place for the entire week, so outside of the swimming I got atleast 20 minutes extra of walking each day. I'll also have them over xmas so this will continue.

So this is week six:
Training:
This is a problem this week, I forgot my wallet at my moms place this weekend, so I can't go swim. I cant afford to waste money on another subscription but I'll go down tomorrow and see if I cant solve it. I need to think about this and will update it later.
Eating better:
So my breakfast has been pretty good according to the discussion last week, this week and towards xmas my main goal will be to 1) make my own bread 2) NOT overeat at xmas 3) make more food from scratch.
Getting more active:
I have my moms dogs over xmas since they fled the country so there's getting more active for you. I'm also gonna start playing floorball once a week.

Question of the week:
It's waaaaay too slippery outside to go run/jog. If I cant swim this week what should I do? Should I hit the gym and take a longer walk with the dogs? that's my only idea atm.

Last week was a awesome week with the comments btw, so much helpful stuff I'm really really thankful for that guys please keep it up

Good work mate :D I found diet is really a major thing, I am eating better but haven't had the money or time to go to the gym meaningfully for 2 months and have lost 8kg in that time.

It sucks you can't go swimming. An entire week off might make you lose momentum. Your diet this week will be even more important with the lack of exercise.

Try doing some workouts at home, situps, pushups, I don't know, do whatever you're physically capable of. Research "at home workouts" and come up with atleast 20-30 minutes of exercise.

+ Show Spoiler [Contents of that link] +
1. BODY-WEIGHT SQUAT (legs) Put your hands on your hips or fold them over your chest (1a). From a standing position, feet about shoulder-width apart, squat down until both knees reach 90 degrees (1b). As you lower yourself, keep your lower back slightly arched, head up, and stick your glutes out as if you were going to sit in a chair. Also, be sure that your knees aren't out past your toes as you descend--if they are, you're not moving your glutes back far enough on the descent. Once you reach the bottom position, flex through your quads, hamstrings and glutes to power yourself back up to a standing position and repeat.

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]

2. SIDE-TO-SIDE LUNGE (legs) With your hands on your hips, assume a comfortable stance, feet shoulder-width apart, head up and torso erect (2a). From there, step with your right leg straight out to your side, as deep as you can go without moving your left foot. Plant your right foot and bend your right knee to 90 degrees (2b). Then, flexing the muscles of your thigh, push yourself back up to a standing position and repeat the movement with your left leg. Alternate side to side in this fashion until you've completed 10 reps per leg.

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]

3. INVERTED PUSH-UP (shoulders) Place your feet on a chair and your hands out in front of you at shoulder-width. Without moving your feet, creep your hands backward until your body is bent almost 90 degrees and your head is facing the floor. Press up until your arms are straight--you should resemble an inverted V (3a)--then slowly lower your head toward the floor until your arms are almost bent 90 degrees (3b) and repeat.

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]

4. PUSH-UP (chest) Place your hands a little wider than your shoulders, put your toes on the floor, feet and legs together, and raise up into an arms-extended position (4a). Slowly lower yourself until your chest just touches the floor (4b), return to the starting position and repeat. As you lower yourself, concentrate on feeling the stretch in your chest, and flex on the way up rather than using a quick piston action to finish your set.

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]

5. CLOSE-GRIP PUSH-UP (triceps) Do these the same as you do the regular push-ups, except bring your hands closer so that your thumbs and index fingers form a triangle beneath your chest (5a). As you descend, your elbows will point outward; once your chest comes in light contact with your hands (5b), slowly return to the starting position and repeat.

This also seems like a link you might be interested in reading.

Purchasing dumbells or resistance bands would be a great thing for you especially since you are not ready to start running. If you're short on money get resistance bands, but if you can afford it get a set of dumbells. This will open a huge door of home-workouts that you can start doing. And really, when it comes to your health, you should be able to set aside a decent amount of money (or start saving everyday starting today) to get equipment that will help you.

If your wrists hurt too bad doing pushups you can purchase pushup stands at almost any fitness store. I don't know what your situation is with situps/pushups, I forget if you touched on that topic in previous blogs.

First of all, congratulations. As someone who has been there, keep it up. However you can. Even if it's only a little. Keep that metabolism going.

I'm sorry if this has been addressed already, but is a treadmill an option, or is that not available at your gym?

If not, longer walks sound like a good idea to me.
Im tired of following my dreams, man. Im just going to ask them where theyre going and hook up with them later. -mh

Also, it just dawned on me. You should try and go to the gym and use one of those bicycles they have. That could be a really good workout for you.

Even if you can't swim, ENSURE you do something. The #1 way people fall out of their exercise plans is refusing to or falling out of a routine. Keep going buddy!

Buy a bike. Hopefully a fixed gear as u get street cred (lol?)...and it keeps u from being lazy. I promise it will keep u in shape. Biking is fairly easy on the body as well.

Im sitting here, after work (it's almost 7am) eating a huge baguette with pepperoni, brie cheese and pesto filling, drinking Julmust on the side...

I started working out a couple of months ago but won't really start eating well.

Good luck to you!

Wow... your dedication to this is amazing! I would hit the gym instead of walking longer. You'll burn more calories and build more muscle than just walking.

Great job and keep going! I think you should start doing some weight lifting at the gym if that's a possibility. Also, try to be really good on your diet: remember that diet is at least 3/4 of the way you look and feel.

Also, post pics!

Yeah I cant swim this week the bathhouse is being real assholes about the whole thing since I dont have a ID-card or anything thanks to not having my wallet, so I'm gonna watch what I eat and do some home gym exercises mon-thursday (I don't have a gym near by as it turns out, going home for xmas on friday and there I'll have access to a gym which I'll use)

Now I just have to find friends to help me work out at the gym. Now I do have access to a barbell with some weights and a few things for my triceps so that's a good start I guess. Would that with diffrent exercises like situps and other things be helpful or is that just a waste of time? Running is still not an option it rained today and now EVERYTHING is ice basically

Try stair sets, but really it shouldn't be too icy to run for more than 2 days unless the road crew isn't doing their job.

Try jumping rope, jumping jacks, or burpees for at-home cardio. You need a certain degree of fitness to start with (particularly in your calves and ankles) for the workout to actually break sweat, but it seems to be working pretty well for me.
