Digitally compressed music and the mp3 didn't dominate people's music collections, so tracks weren't being as badly "remastered" to sound louder. These days they just jack up all the frequencies to catch your attention, but it's ultimately harder to listen to and very tiring. As for my favorites: My Bloody Valentine: "When You Sleep" (If you don't own this album, you should) Smashing Pumpkins: "Disarm" Modest Mouse: "Trailer Trash"

Although some may argue that "Bohemian Rhapsody" was a bigger cultural phenomenon and has more artistic ELEMENTS, I think that Innuendo just evokes a whole different scope of emotions that Queen had until then had not touched upon. I think this is significant because it is the album that was released around the time of Freddy's confession to having AIDS (or sometime after it), and was right before his death.
