Perhaps this is more work than you want to do right away, but do consider it as you get more serious. It prevents your blood sugar from spiking up and down the way 3 larger meals do; the result is more energy and a much faster metabolism. Protein shakes are a great way to make up the extra meals if you would ever consider doing something like that.

I was around 170-175 pounds around last year and I lost like 25-30 pounds just by eating clean (mainly green, limited meat, and water) as well as running almost every day for the first six months. After that it was all dieting, which in my opinion is key. Best of luck sir! Keep us updated and I hope that you will be able to reach your goal.

My only input is to find a partner to do it with. My one friend and I use to go running on the beach every sunday morning. It made things a lot more fun and she's now one of my best friends. I admire your goal and I hope you stay dedicated to it. You can do it for sure! Good luck :-)

I'm with you on this man I'm going to lose some weight either I'm only 1.7m tall and 70kg but my body fat percentage is much higher than it used to be. My advice is to stop drinking alcohol and anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup it's so bad for you. Eat a lower carb diet but don't cut them out(it will make you feel tired a lot more). More protein and fruits/vegetables. Imo Swimming is what you should take up. It's very low impact and it burns TONS of calories I mean look at Michael Phelps, the guy eats 8000 calories a day worth of food while he's training and he's so cut his abs have abs. If you can't really get into swimming then try to just run on an elliptical it's lower impact for your knees. Also a really good tip I've heard is to start doing full body work outs where you do some resistance training(lifting weights) but target all of the major muscle groups. Anyways I'll be taking pictures with you starting this Sunday buddy for I'm going to lose some fat too and hopefully gain a bit more muscle. Awesome dude! And yeah swimming is something I'd get into quicker then running, since I actually enjoy swimming, while I've always hated running even when I was active at a pretty high level of sport (I'd enter the name but you guys have never heard of it). Also thank you so so much for all the advice guys, I'm reall gonna dig down an look into it all later on tonight. Well I'm off for my first work out session. Cya!

If I were to start running my knees would be screwed within 1-2 months and then I'd really be in trouble. fantacist and disco: Let me just give you this advice: do it before it's too late. The longer you wait the harder it'll become, and suddenly you cant hardly go up stairs without breathing like you just ran a marathon! APurleCow: Yea that's my main plan, not to go crazy and go on these starving diets, because belive it or not: I know alot of training and dieting. I'm just not using my own advice. Get a bike. Bicycling is easier than jogging, but can be as good of exercise if you go for longer.

I myself have been trying to put on some weight (I'm a skinny half-asian kid T.T) but I've been lacking the discipline. Perhaps this is a good time to get serious again.
