EDIT - I thought I should mention - Kitchener, Ontario had it's name changed years ago. It's old name was New Berlin. It got that name for a reason. Oktoberfest there is about as good as you can get without going to Germany. And I should know - my heritage is German. I used to go to Oktoberfest every year, until University dragged me 500 km away  | ||

There is no way a pilsener is the best beer in the world it all tastes like watery catpiss. I like Belgian beers better than the German ones I think, though some of them were nice (I can't remember the names). | ||

A couple of friends and me did this experiment a while ago and Eichbaum Ureich was the clear favorite. It's a good beer for a reasonable price. Also it's from Mannheim, which isn't very far from my hometown (Go Baden!). A friend of mine actually identified Oettinger at first sight, I quote: "Das sieht ja schon aus wie Schmieröl!" (roughly translating to:"It looks like motor oil!") Anyway, good luck. And next time maybe invite some of us. Perhaps someone is living next door, who knows? Prost | ||
