I'm looking to start up piano again but i don't have one. Therefore, im asking the great TL community for suggestions. Preferably one that can connect to a Macbook. So far i have this one in mind but if you can find one 4 much cheaper, then i would be very appreciated.

the reason im doing this is because i was scouring youtube and found this.

If you want to start up piano again, you may want to look into a digital piano instead of a keyboard. It senses velocity and most come with 88 keys.
I know you're looking for a cheap deal, so it would be wrong for me to suggest any digital pianos, as they would probably be $400+, but it should be something you should consider as an upgrade later on, if you want to get back into piano.

If you actually decide to get a full scale keyboard I recommend the Casio PX-120.

My mom brought me up on a grand piano but when I went to college, I got the PX120. I'm pretty satisfied with it because of the weighted keys (feels similar to an actual piano) and relatively good velocity sensitivity (not sure what the actual term is, it's just more "touch sensitive" than regular keyboards). The only reasonable complaint I've consistently seen in reports (and have myself) is the sound quality of the keyboard, which isn't a big problem since I just hook it up to my computer speakers.

I've actually been looking for a digital piano too to get back into it, but I haven't really been able to find much in the 'cheap' range. I feel the M-Audio one linked above is designed more for synth work rather than playing classical music. And for me, touch / feel is much more important than how vast the soundbanks are / midi control.

I actually stumbled across the Privia line too while looking for digital pianos, and I've been leaning towards that direction as they seem to get pretty good reviews. The only thing really holding me from purchasing one is that I'd like to test it out in person first... that and the $500 pricetag. =\

I'm alright with digital pianos. The sound and feel aren't quite right but it's close enough. When I moved to Japan I didn't ship my piano with me (and it really sucked not having a piano for a month) but a friend of a friend recently bought a baby grand so I got her old keyboard (a good condition roland hp-2) for free. I like it but I wouldn't have payed for it. One of my relatives has one of the older clarinovas and it sounds horrible but the newer models sound a lot better. The grand piano is still a little mechanical sounding but it's better and the classical guitar sound is actually really nice.

And you can connect like any keyboard that has an input/output jacks into your computer if you have a good DAW like ableton.
