Well, if you think beer is gross, try a cider instead. I know of ciders based with apples, pears, peaches, even blueberries. I like beer, but I like ciders even better. They are not as "harsh", and are sweeter, as well as having a flavour you will be more familiar with.
As for suggesting a kit for making your own ale - I strongly suggest you stay the hell away from it. It is a very costly thing to do, and I have seen 2 people fail a similar attempt.

I told this to everyone in college, and many of them would be like "oh even if you don't like beer this one in particular is AMAZING and you will like it" and I'd try it and invariably find it gross. People say beer is an acquired taste but I doubt most people found it to taste as bad as I have considering how much agony they would have to overcome to become beer drinkers...

Something is wrong with you!!! There are so many beers in this world that there is absolutely no chance that you won't find one that you like. I guess you don't like the classic beers because they are too bitter or something like that but maybe you should try honey strong beer, cherry beer or any other beer among the vast brewing styles and flavors around the world.
Seriously, there are really tasty sweet beers as well, so don't give up and jump on the beer bandwagon!

I tastes more like a cider than a beer, but who cares, it rules!

I don't really like the taste of beer either. I usually drink cider on a night out. Bumers (Magners most other places) is my favourite, but there are a few other nice ones. Kopperberg Pear is quite nice too.

Keith's is where it's at, though I enjoy a good Chinaken (Tsingtao, it tastes and look like Heineken only it's cheap and Chinese, hence the Chinaken, get it, get it? ... I'll just go.) every once in a while when I'm not in Atlantic Canada.

I never realized you were a female. If I wasn't willing to try it OVER and OVER again then I wouldn't really be able to argue with your jab. However, I've done everything I can. I'm not going to forcibly feed myself a drink I can't stand the taste of when I can just have liquor or beverages. I actually don't like wine either. I don't however understand why you want to make fun of someone for not liking the taste of something when it's not his (or even her) fault. Making fun of someone for being short, or requiring glasses due to myopia (short sightedness), or because of their skin color, are all pretty annoying/despicable things and what you are doing is no different. Of course we do it IN JEST all the time and I only even care because I don't really know who you are and can't read the tone through the internet.
Its not a big deal, i drink alcohol to get drunk. Not because i like its taste, beer tastes like piss, strong liquors all taste the same to me. I cant differentiate a good wine from the one they give you at the church.

The only alcoholic drink who's taste I really enjoy is vodka. Everything else I drink to get drunk.
I find myself now after a bottle of wine wondering whether I should write some 'creative' bullshit and post it in my blog on TL.
I find I like the taste of something bitter and cruel. Like when I drink black coffee and people tell me how gross it is to have coffee without milk or sugar. Well that's the point, isn't it? You're taking a drug because life isn't good enough on its own, so why not take one that symbolises that.

yeah i support hoegaarden, it's currently my favorite beer think of a beer that goes down as smooth as keith's but actually has some taste to it (actually you might give keith's a try, but you'll just think you were drinking water.. still you certainly won't hate it) oh and it and has no bitter aftertaste everyone i've convinced to try this beer has unequivocally *at least* said it's "pretty good"; the majority love it

I used to drink a lot of black coffee, but it wrecks havoc with your digestion. Coffee is rather acidic, so if you don't dilute it with anything else, it's rather harsh on your stomach and intestines. Now I just add a little bit of nonfat milk so as to preserve my digestion until I'm 50 years old.
