For example a 550 Corsair Alim is very powerfull and is trully delivering the 550 watts but some shitty brands label their stuff "500w" whereas a good 400 is better ( and more silent and safe lol ) So what is your the brand/model of your power supply ? Anyway hardrives aren't too greedy. Usually the problem is GPU / CPU

A PSU with a single 12V rail rated for 28A will be just as good as a PSU with two rails at a lower amperage. PC Power & Cooling goes with single rails and are one of the most highly rated PSU manufacturers in the business.

1 cpu maxed 140w TDP 1 gpu maxed 300w TDP 2 sticks of ram depends on DDR DDR2 3 on draw but it only adds like 30w number out of my ass there per stick max 2 hdd depends on pata/ide or sata 1 rom drive again but they are just a few watts few perhiperals 20w? ridiculous amounts So i mean even with absurd cpu and gpu the max TDP they would put on a single cpu or gpu you still fall around 500w max draw for 1 gpu cpu system. And depening on how the company rates the psu like from pc power and cooling a 910w psu can be maxed draw without failure at 1Kw
