Anyway, has anyone updated? I've nearly always regretted updating iTunes whenever it asked me to in some way, so I'm hesitant to DL this one...not to mention its fucking 100MEGABYTE DL SIZE LOLOL.

I usually put off any updates for iTunes until one day I accidentally click Yes or my ipod needs to be updated.

I have to update iTunes everytime there is a new upadate for my iphone. Other than that I would say I never use the program but from what I saw downloading this new update it looks pretty much the same as the other ones.

I never liked itunes mostly because of installation size and memory consumption and general slowness on windows. And the interface was a bit alien to me. But the 9 version, apart from yet more disk space taken, seems to be easier to use, esp. drag & drop (or I finally got it lol ) but anyways it works pretty decent. So I use it because, unfortunately, there's nothing better featured for handling the ipod.

I've used iTunes forever even though I haven't really enjoyed it that much. iTunes 9, however, is much much better then the past versions.

i always try to put off installing updates, but i do it eventually.

i wish i knew a good program that could replace it; i just stick with it because it seems convenient.

Yes, I use this too. Its actually great if you enable portable mode in foobar so you can put it on ipod. Then you can use it on any computer, even without itunes. It's fast and easy method but it won't put my podcasts to the podcast category on the device. I've tried several ipod managers and so far only itunes does that. This plugin also has some issues with displaying file names.

i used to never update itunes 3 years ago then one day suddenly my itunes refused to recognize my ipod and I couldn't recharge either with usb or a power cord. Since then I've gotten a new ipod because im an idiot and I instaclick everytime itunes tells me to update. I learned the hard way.

I used to be the same way...avoided updates until I accidentally hit "yes".

If the interface is better, then I'll look into it, though. My music library is now bigger than the 111.95GB my iPod has, so I can't just hit "sync" every time now...:\

I'll check out that foobar thing once I get home, though. iTunes is, as was mentioned previously, a bloated motherfucker.

I have a decent computer I built like six months ago, so it doesn't affect me all that much, though. I've been using iTunes for years now, though, and I actually like the interface a lot better than any other major media player (WMP, winamp, etc). I'm also OCD about keeping my shit tagged and organized properly, which iTunes does better than any other program I know of. It's the only one that so cleanly let's you update and keep track of ID3 tags or whatever.

I dunno...ugh.

Anyone know what happened to that Double Twist thing that came up in general several months ago?
