So, reading week starts on the 10th of October for my school, which means we get a week off to study for midterms...
However, since not every class has midterms (I only have two) and plane flights from Hong Kong are dirt cheap, me and a couple friends are flying to Seoul for 6 days and 5 nights. One of the days will be spent on the DMZ tour, but every other day is pretty free.
Luckily enough, the offseason ends just as I arrive, so I will be sure to catch a live Starcraft game. Anything else to do in Seoul, or major attractions, or hell, TLers that wanna chill?

Hahaha that map is epic. I'll be around during that period for whatever events are on. Aside from the 10th when I'm going to Dream Concert. The schedule hasn't been announced yet though. I'll probably be presenting the JD card to him during that time frame depending upon matches if you fancy being around for that.

ㅠ.ㅠ Dream Concert is something a group of us really want to go to, but none of us have the capability of buying tickets for it, and it'd be impossible to get them day of because we land at like 5PM KST.
I am not quite sure where we're staying right now - I have to get in contact with the group of us. I remember him saying that it's within a close walk from Seoul Station on the metro line, though, so that's probably the closest metro stop we'll have access to.

Seoul Station ▷ Apgujeong【 8 Stations: 21 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +This is where you shop for expensive designer clothes. Since you're from Hong Kong, I don't think you should buy designer clothes in Korea when you can get the same thing for a much better price in HK. But Apgujeong also has it's fair share of goodies. Pretty girls, nice cars (if you're an enthusiast) and nice bars. I don't recommend going clubbing here because it sucks BALLZ now because stupid ass Korean Americans ruined this place.
One bad thing about Apgujeong is that the subway system here is total shit. As you can see from the map I posted above, the #3 line is probably the absolute worst subway line. Sure it's clean. But too bad it's slow as FUCK.
Also the traffic here is terrible. Goddamn.
BUT THE GIRLS... OH THE GIRLS....... MMMMMMMMMMM Seoul Station ▷ Shinsa【 9 Stations: 23 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +This place has ALOT of nice bars. But unless you're bringing your girlfriend here, I do not suggest coming here if you're lonely. Because 90% are all couples. HOLDING HANDS.
Thank god I have a girlfriend, or my balls would shriveled up already from depression and loneliness. Seoul Station ▷ Gang-Nam【 11 Stations: 29 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +Ahhh Gangnam... This is where majority of TL stuff happens. Yes there are a shitload of people here and traffic is even worse than Apgu, but still fun fun place. Alot cheaper than Apgu too.
Although the taxi drivers here are notorious for being the biggest douches. Yes, even to koreans.
BUT! This place is pretty sweet. Decent price, alot of bars, lotsa good food, nice HOUSE Clubs, etc etc + UNLIMITED STEAK Seoul Station ▷ Hong-Dae【 6 Stations: 20 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +I absolutely hate this place with a passion. Sure it's cheap and etc, but this place attracts the lowest scums of all people.
Hong-Dae is not famous for being the #1 (still argued) Art College in Korea, but because of the # of Hip-Hop clubs and cheap food. Some say Hong-Dae girls are the prettiest in Korea, but they only say that because half of them are tripping ballz and let the guys do anything to them.
Still, it IS cheap so.... Oh right if you're an otaku theres this place in HongDae where they sell Mangas for 20-30% discount. Figurines are not discounted though. Seoul Station ▷ Hwe-Hwa【 6 Stations: 11 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +In Korea, this is where the "Other" cool college kids hang out. Like HongDae, this place sucks balls for my taste. LOTS of good food here though. Only food however... Seoul Station ▷ Dong-Dae-Moon【 5 Stations: 9 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +Who loves cheap clothes? I do. Seoul Station ▷ Myeong-Dong【 2 Stations: 3 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +Myeong-Dong is where all the Japanese people live in Korea. If you go here, the ONLY language you will be able to hear is Japanese. SUGOI SUGOI IKKU IKKU YAMETE YAMETE SUGOI
Nice shopping area though. Lotsa stuff to do here too Seoul Station ▷ Euljiro 1【 2 Stations: 12 Minutes 】 NOTE: Euljiro 1 and Myeong-Dong are both the same place. Bad Subway FTL
Seoul Station ▷ Chung-Dam【 13 Stations: 33 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +This place used to be a baller place to hang out. But then everyone realized it was overrated so they all ran out.
I poast moar later
Seoul Station ▷ Samsung AKA Coex【 14 Stations: 35 Minutes 】 OMG WHAT I DO HERE MRHOON?!?!?! + Show Spoiler +This place is fucking far from Seoul Station, but it is Coex! Coex is HUGE. Like seriously, HUGE. If you're going to go to Coex, you better have enough strength to walk around the whole place. There are tons of overpriced places to eat here, a huge ass movie theater and alotta places to shop. Yeah it's basically a huge ass mall that doesn't suck balls. BUT DONT EVER. EVER. Come to COEX on the weekends. IT SUCKS ASS. Seriously. It's so bad. There are so many people it makes Myeong Dong actually seem peaceful. Also, try not to get lost lol... Because I still do

Hongdae does suck ass generally because of the amount of douchehats it brings, but if you like independant music (or non-pop) in general you probably want to go here, also during daytime it has excellent restaurants/cafes
Jongak and Jongro 1-2가 are generally pretty fun places at night but it can also get really skanky... and there are like a million 삐끼s
BAsically... if oyu havent got a lot of money but want lots of fun, go to Sinchon, if you have got lots of money and want lots of fun, go to Gangnam, if you have LOTS of money and want lots of fun, go to apgujeong.
Myungdong is good but not really a drinking/night time place... (although it's near Jongro which is)

You should visit Korea this december, fail.
OH RITE
BTW if any of your friends are smokers, I suggest they don't throw Cig Butts on the floor.
Korea can now charge you 50,000 Won (50 bucks) for littering on the ground
Even if you pull the "OMG IM NOT FROM DIS COUNTRY PLZ LET ME GO" card it won't work anymore D:
This rule only applies to the "Expensive Side" of the River. Nobody cares anywhere else lol.

In korea, some days you can spend almost as low as 8000W all night or a shocking 200000W in a single hour.
- 1000
W - 5000W from PC Bang (Lan Cafe, 1 Hour = 1000W, so 5000W assuming you sit your ass on a computer for 5 hours)
- A Small Bottle of Water has an average cost of 750
W - 1250W.
- Soju costs like 1000
W from a Supermarket, but in Soju bars or Restaurants it usually ranges from 2000W to 5000W, depending on where you are
- Club entrance fee have an average of 20000
W, 10000W in shitty places or 30000W in some places under the river. Also no sandals and flipflops allowed.
- An average DECENT meal can cost around 10000
W per person. Yes there are MILLIONS of ways to buy food lower than that, but I'm pretty sure if you want to experience Korea you don't want to be sitting in the corner eating a ball of rice so you can have 'cheap food'
- Soju is dirt cheap, BUT, Imported Hard Liquor (IE, Whisky and Vodka) ARE FUCKING EXPENSIVE. IT IS GAY. A 1 liter bottle of Johny Walker Black can cost up to 75000
W - 100000W. However if you go to this shit bar called "Monkey Beach (I DON'T RECOMMEND GOING HERE IT SUCKS AND IS FULL OF UGLY GIRLS) you can get tequila for dirt cheap.
if I were you, I would just buy some hard liquor from the duty free before you board onto the plane.
- 3000cc of Draft Beer Costs around 5000
W - 6000W if memory serves me correctly.
Don't ever drink Hite. Hite is the Budweiser of Korea. Yes, it's that bad.
- Taxi fares start at 2400
W (it stays at 2400W until you get through 1km or some shit, or was it 2). IIRC 1 KM = AT MOST 1000W if there is little traffic.
- Subway costs 900
W if you stay on the line. Transfers cost like 200W or some bullshit. Either way it's cheap as fuck and I recommend this over taxi unless it's over 12:00AM because thats when subways usually close.
PS: GET THE SUBWAY CARD (aka Octopus Card or w/e you call it in HK). Works on buses too! Just recharge it around 25000W and you'll be set! If you need further recharging there is a recharging machine in the subway which has Chinese/Japanese and even English for you convenience.
There is alot more I can add but you get the basic gist. It really really depends on what you're doing. OH RIGHT, DON'T EVER DO CURRENCY EXCHANGE IN BANK Handle everything in the airport Serious.
If you're going through a HEAVY PARTAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Rekrul style night, you can drop 750000W with absolute ease.
However if you are going with the innocent "Omg i luv starcraft" routine you can drop as little as 10000W a day if you don't eat much lol

T-money card you can use it for both buses and subway ^^
Also most pc rooms these days are are like 1200 with cards and 1000 if you register and when you register they usually give you a discount like 5 hours instead of 5000 won like 4000 won. All depends on the pc rooms.
Can you be my angel too mrhoon
Oh line 2 line 2 i dont think ever got in with just 1 stop. Always have to ride the next one when i get in line.

The subway card (T-Money) is 2500 to buy per card and then you can refill it as many times as you need. It's more of a transit card, than subway.
MrHoon is right, 900 won to ride the subway, but it depends on where you are going (ie how far you are from starting point). If you transfer within a given distance, it's still only 900 won. Also, you can transfer from subway to bus using the card and most cabs now also accept T-Money as well.

nice posts by mr.hoon, good to see I was at the right places when I was in seoul a few days ago. The amount of superexpensive cars in gangnamgu is so ridiculous. Oh btw if you're there and you like coffee go to cafe M at the design building, it's an incredibly stylish large café with good music (which is so awfully rare in korea) and the sad thing is that since it's new nobody seems to know it exists and there's hardly ever any people there.
Oh and since the OP is chinese I don't know if it's as interesting for him as it was for me but I always like going to Insa-dong, an art-district with lots of pretty things to buy. Ah and go to the tower! costs i think 8000 won to get up there (we also paid I think 5000 to take a lift up before that), it's 300 meters above ground and gives you a great sight of all of seoul
+ Show Spoiler [a photo I took on the tower] +

Oh btw I'm probably delivering it pre-event so if you want to come in as my assistant for the day (aka.
