i'm assuming that there is a level of respect for new comers. for example, they're not gonna treat a new comer, who just killed a child, the same as a new comer, who used to be the boss of a crime family. | ||

Our prisons are based on rehabilitation not punishment. Rehabilitation doesn't work though and punishment is purposeless. | ||

Absolutely. Perhaps an argument can be made for those with light prison terms (<5 years), but for those with a long stay, particularly lifers, these conditions are adequate.
