For about six months I have had jock itch so I decided to take matters into my own hands. it looks about like this for those who don't know + Show Spoiler + It FUCKING ITCHES! So... after rubbing my skin raw over the past few days it began to scab over because I was scratching too much. I found something called Soothenol X2 in the medicine cabinet. Being the idiot I am I applied it all over the affected areas (ass included). So... After about thirty seconds it started to FUCKING BURN! this shit is painful. I can't imagine a time I have been in more pain. Looking at the bottle again it says "WARNING: Do not use on wounds or damaged skin". That area is a HUGE patch of damaged skin in addition to the wound I have given myself by scratching this thing. I am sitting here with an ice pack hoping that the fucking fungus will die now.
Anyone have any advise on how to get rid of this shit?

Wow wtf on those pics... must... see... boobs..... need... boobs...

Erm, I'd say wash the stuff off in the shower, but no idea how well it'll come off. But if that jock itch is as bad as you describe, you should srsly see a doctor.

Hydrogen Peroxide, or Isopropyl Alcohol, or Iodine. Put some on a cloth/toilet paper/2x2, and dab it on. Then see a doctor.

hehe, you have a jock itch and you're taking matters "into your own hands"... "So... after rubbing my skin raw over the past few days..." But srsly, see a doctor, espically if you just aggrivated the area

instead of fucking yourself over by not doing anything, why dont yo get some over the counter jock itch/athletes foot medicine?
get some powder and spray and go crazy on those areas.
There are many brands you acn use such as Lamisil, Tinactin, Lotrimin.

dont put alcohol or peroxide on it. it will make it WORSE. only certain types of gold bond work.
while waiting for antifungal medication, you should wash yourself with cold water. the cold sensation will block off itchiness. let it get LOTS of fresh air.
i recommend using a fan to blow on it to keep it dry and keep the itch away. keep it COOL.

Damn dude. That's gotta hurt a bunch. Go to a doctor, ASAP.

from wiki:
Tinea cruris is often treated with antifungal drugs applied topically. Traditionally creams containing tolnaftate, terbinafine, econazole nitrate, clotrimazole or miconazole have been used, although newer agents such as butenafine are also used. These anti-fungal agents work by stopping the fungi from producing a substance called ergosterol, which is an essential component of fungal cell membranes. If ergosterol synthesis is completely or partially inhibited, the cell is no longer able to construct an intact cell membrane. This leads to death of the fungus.
If the skin inflammation causes discomfort and itching, glucocorticoid steroids may be combined with the anti-fungal drug to help prevent further irritation due to the patient scratching the area. Apart from the quicker relief of symptoms, this also helps minimise the risk of secondary bacterial infection caused by the scratching. However, steroids may exacerbate the condition if used alone for fungal infections.
Since fungi tend to thrive in warm, dark, damp conditions, minimizing these conditions can help treat and prevent symptoms. Examples of optimal environmental conditions and behaviors are: losing weight, wearing boxer underwear or no underwear, increasing air-flow by sleeping near a fan, wearing loose sleepwear or no sleepwear, exposing the area to wind and sun, minimizing the use of lap-top computers, and thoroughly cleaning the area with a hand-held shower head and soap.

Probably cant be to much worse then what he alrdy did

cut off the infected area to keep it from spreading
|
|
btw I'm pretty sure alcohol will turn into sugar so yea don't put that shit on unless you want to feed the fungus or something
|
If sugar could turn to alcohol I would be a happy man.
Just ask parents to take you to a doctor and get an anti-fungal cream prescribed. You clearly embarassed about it since you let it last this long; don't be. The sooner you get it fixed the sooner you won't have to be embarassed about it :O!
|
uh sugar does turn into alcohol. how do you think beer is made?
|
med fag here.
Hydrogen peroxide can be a slight debridding agent- it can be a home remedy, but really you just want to make sure that you are keeping the area nice and dry!!!!! i cannot stress this enough- and if you decide to become un cheap- just get an over the counter fix. You don't need to see a doctor for this kind of thing unless it gets really bad.

I had something similar - and I was prescribed 2 different treatments. One was a hydrocortisone topical treatment (something like a 1.0% cream), and the other was using a zinc oxide topical treatment (0.5% cream, I think).
This was basically because there were two possible causes. So I tried the hydrocortisone first, and it worked within a week.
But yea, go see a doctor. We are not a replacement for one. And itching it won't make it get better.....

ewww
that's all I have to say, sorry.

I highly recommend a dermatologist
It looks like something you need a prescription for so yeah...maybe some antibiotic stuff might help. good luck anyways that looks quite painful.

Edit: *might be eating that flesh away* I mean.
|
And the reason you haven't seen a doctor.

This reminds me of the guy who did self surgery lol. Obviously not as severe here but still..

Go to a docter.
Really this can get a lot worse. Your skin is now very suseptable to a mold or fungus infection.

go to a dermatologist, it looks like a rash or maybe athlete feet but in your crotch area ( could happen trust me..). Assuming I'm right, the dermatologist will give you this antibacterial cream that you'll have to use for 10 days (at least iirc) and you'll see that red crap go away...
|
I would see a doctor asap except in Sweden such a visit would cost ~ $17. If it cost to much then just google your as off
|
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL ROFLMAO I KNOW THE TRUTH HERE!!!
|
Hydrogen Peroxide is not a bad advice by the looks of it, I'm not sure it's legit but I see it suggested when I google.
In Sweden we have a product called "Alsolsprit" or (aluminiumacetotartrat) I failed to translate it however. Anyways it's my nr1 most used medicine.
Basically it's a totally safe product that's great for: itches (even in the ears or nose), insect bites, rash and whatnot
|
Well thx for all of the advice. I guess the moral is Soothanol doesn't really sooth much at all.
|
Have you used an anti-fungal cream yet?????? please tell me that you have...... Or at the very least, have you been wearing lose clothing and keeping the area dry?
|
please dont use antibacterial cream. you WANT the bacteria back to control the fungus. you need ANTIFUNGAL!!
|
I see what you did there x3
