I think the more mature thing to do would be not to talk to him in the first place instead of playing the "good guy" and then belittling him with the high school comment. It was like you already knew what to expect with him and you just took the opportunity to insult him. Just my opinion, I think I generally like your posts otherwise, but this was kind of stupid. You have a good point that posting this here may have been a bit dumb, but I disagree with your second part. Whenever anyone brings up a topic themselves with you, then you're given the freedom to give input on it. That was seriously all I was trying to do. It wasn't outright "belittling" that made me say he was acting all "mtv high school", but that was my honest opinion. In any case, like I said, I didn't mind talking to him about SC and whatnot, it's just that whenever we talked about anything else, I was bombarded by poser-isms and lots of "trying-too-hard". It was annoying, but not enough for me to just suddenly stop talking to him. I didn't intentionally try to start an argument or dispute of any kind in that conversation...it just kind of turned out that way, and lucky me, now I may never get an IM from him again. I still think it was funny, though, that people can think like that at that age...

It was some healthy criticism, kind of like what you're giving him now. I disagree, I don't think he was trying to belittle him at any point.

I feel kind of stupid...I really can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, lol.
