When I really want to sit down and listen and delve deep into the music I listen to Tech Death and Black. It takes a finer ear to really listen and appreciate the incredible musical talent.

Then when I want to relax I listen to stuff more easily digested. Some people just like to sit down and listen to music without deciphering the masterpiece behind it.

Your just an idiot parading around saying your taste is better then others. Tech Death for the most part has become redundant and terrible, and beyond the great musicianship, has nothing else backing it up. The black metal you post is terrible too. -_-

Yeah, I guess bands like Augury, older Necrophagist, Arsis, Quo Vadis, etc. have nothing "backing them up" whatever the fuck that means.

Sounds like you're the one saying what music is better than what. A purely compositional matter is what I was talking about, where as you're merely throwing out retarded ass epithets.

Anyways, I could care less what people listen to, but even you have to agree that listening to BM takes a finer ear, than say listening to Metalcore or Pillar...

Of course, but your just bragging about a taste in music, assuming no one else listens to it. Your taste in Black Metal is questionable at best, and saying TECH DEATH requires a finer ear? It was good at one point, but now is shit. Listen to bands like Evoken, Dolorian, maudlin of the Well etc, and get educated.

Yes, I listen to Funeral/Doom, your point? If you are seriously saying that listening to Funeral/Doom requires a finer ear than Tech Death, that is absurd. Listen to some Neuraxis.

How is it more absurd? It requires more patience, and definately more delving. Tech Death is usually shit, with no integrity behind it.

Here's a simple analogy for you.

Tech Death is equivalent to Beethoven compared to the complexity of Doom. Doom is extremely easy to follow and doesn't require intent listening to understand and comprehend the music. It's extremely slow paced, usually staying in the same octave and is the type of music you listen to when you want to "chill".

Also, what does "patience" and "delving" have to do with a finer ear. Being able to listen and pick out each instrument in the song and actually understand and listen to the musicians is a lot more demanding when in the presence of Tech Death than Doom.

And at no point have I said what type of music is better. Music taste is subjective. Composition is not. And what the fuck is "integrity" in music? Are you seriously saying they are only in the genre of Tech Death because of money or something? Seriously?

Just because something is slower doesn't necessarily mean it is less complex. Your analogy is wrong.

wow, Funeral Doom and things along that line are MUCH more complex in orchestration then tech death, and have a much wider variety in feeling and atmosphere. Tech Death may be "technical" and musicianship wise outstanding, but has no feeling, no complexity beyond the instrumentation, and is much more accessible then drone/funeral doom. Your analogy is bullshit.
