I am proud to say that I am ICCup's newest D+. To be honest I thought it would have been a lot harder to get there, mostly because I've been playing a lot of "1v1 play/obs" on U.S. East and D+ seemed like pro gamer level according to some people...
I'm not playing that well. This LAN latency is really messing me up, I can't even micro goons, they just don't fire because I'm not used to the timing. My splits are terrible, but that's not incredibly important. The main thing screwing me over is this chair that has annoyingly high and wide arm rests. I would use a different chair, but this one is very comfortable and I'm not taking starcraft that seriously.
Not quite sure why I am playing Iccup, maybe I'm just curious to see how high I could get.
P.S. does anyone know how the minerals in maps like Destination work? Where there are patches blocking a ramp and it says "0" minerals. I've broking through them before with a worker or 2 just mining but anyone know specifics on how long it takes to mine through and if it is faster if I put multiple workers on it?

D+ at the end and D+ at beginning are very different things. Although both of them, to me, are noteworthy congrats.
It's faster I believe, because there are many minerals

Don't feel bad if you lose right back to D. It will surely happen but you'll climb right back to D+, The D+ players are after all, on a different level.

the patch with 0 on destination.. basically you can mine it like a normal patch but each time the peon finishes the mining animation, he is still empty-handed. it takes like 25 seconds or 8-9 mining animations is my rough estimate, to eliminate the patch.

Although D+ rank is getting hardcore nowadays that shouldn't be too hard for you to achieve.
If i remember you were a T / P player. Your only only real problems should be PvZ or TvZ because PvT / TvP / PvP / TvT are still somewhat the same mus for ages.

THe mineral patches are stacked - it's a bunch of 0 mineral patches. I don't know how many it is but it's probably about 10-15 or so. It is much faster to use multiple peons, but usually 2-3 is fine to get it done in ~15 seconds or so

EDIT: I mean in how often, not how well. You aren't going to hit B+/A- in four days from D+.

blackjack can get B- in his current form no problem, i dotn know if he can go further or not, depends what hours he plays and if he keeps offracing or not

Oh I got d+ last night also. Would have been a bit quicker if I dodged the 1 or 2 koreans lol (beat another one <3)

I played a bunch of 1v1 play/obs on b.net and got told that too(before I started iccup), so when I went on iccup I was like "A- ezpz" but only got D+

lol this really made me laugh, i'm sure some people didnt know that blackjack was one of the US's better players and consistently won cw's for 88)/USA-A. but anyways, its good to see you playing again :D

Well I must have been misinformed because I thought B- was like top tier foreigner level and C+ was like really really good. And yes, as some have recognized, this isn't a very serious blog. It's more about playing starcraft again in over 3 years than about hitting D+
