videotron is hardly ever down. if it is it's for a couple of hours, usually like early morning where it doesn't matter that much videotron never throttles you. w/ my 10mb/s connection I dl @ about anywhere from 700kbs to 1mbs at any time, even when I dl like 20 things from internet + torrents the inconvenient thing is the dl limit, especially if you're on normal high speed. but even then, when you know you're going to bust the limit you better go all out and dl 200 gigs of stuff for the price of 40 know what I mean? as far as obscure companies go, my understanding is that they somehow use bell/videotron's lines so depending on which company you'll get certain disadvantages. my friend is suscribed to a company that uses bell's lines and he says he still feels the throttling (not as bad but not great either) from 5 to 2 or so | ||
