Eh I'm treading on thin ice right now, but is it not true that men always feel that they have to be the dominant one in a relationship, that they have to look after their lady?

Perhaps a semi-malnourished female can bring out that protectiveness in a man.

Of course, skinny women also give the impression that they are young and ripe for the picking. A youthful teenage (15-19) body is slimmer and also more supple than a body that has gone through childbirth. We also know that humans love new things and slim females give off the impression that they are younger (newer)

Hence men's preference for skinny women.

Tell me if you agree or disagree please. I still think I'm treading on thin ice.

skinny women aren't pretty. fat women arent pretty either. Very skinny women are ugly as hell, so are very fat women. Maybe skinny is better than fat but certainly not beautiful. Ok, i'm captain obvious, but still, needed to be said. Perfect girls are perfect, right?

Hips/Ass: Big booty, less chance for birth complication, and more space for baby to chill.

Athletic build: No run, no live.

Long legs: bigger stride and jump.

Also skinny girls are obviously not pregnant, So you can tell which mates are ready for seeding.

Since evolution takes millions of years and our culture/technology increases so fast in comparison. It's just kinda weird to see how these old survival traits will evolve into common society. So really it's not a surprise or even something so bad when fat kids get made fun of in school, or obese people are such a circus act when viewed in public. Deep down we all know that they wouldn't survive in a survival of the fittest (literally).

So like suggested in so many ways and aspects of human society, we are killing ourselves one way or another.
A humourous example of this is in the movie Wall-E, where every human is a fat ass who just eats and consumes while robots do everything and everything is automated. That's not too far off what we are aiming at. Just look at all the obesity rates.

this is completely and totally wrong. we did not "evolve" to like skinny women, it's all part of social norms now and how beauty is perceived. Just look at the venus of willendorf or any other fertility figure. They're not very skinny are they?

Also, one can make the same argument for fit men, why do girls like fit men but if you notice, it use to be that fat men were desirable due to the fact that it meant they had resources and thus could overindulge and at the same time provide for the female. Toned, fit and tanned men were considered workers of the land and thus dirty and not fit for mating. It's all about perception.

lol, this is just terribly misinformed because the standard of beauty still differs quite a bit from culture to culture even in this globalized world, and it seriously wasn't all that long ago when some people culturally found plump girls to be preferable over skinny girls.

For me it's more of a question of fairness. I take care of my body for you, so I expect you to do the same for me. You can't be annorexic, but you can't be obese =p. Need to be juuuuuusst right =).

I wondered about it myself once, why the hell would a non fat person be more attractive aesthetically and sexually? I think it's fairly obvious, fat implies that the person isn't physically active and does not care about his appearance, is lazy and there is always a genetic or mental reason behind it. And you only want the best, most evolved genes to mix your genes with so your progeny is even more improved genetically than yourself.

Yea.

What about the inhabitants in areas where most are malnourished? They prefer chubbier spouses because it indicates wealth (for food) and healthiness. Based on their circumstances their standards are just naturally different.
