but I agree with the OP. All of our attraction mechanisms are rooted in our dna, from millions and millions of years of evolution. Anything you find "attractive" about somebody means you think their genes would benefit your children. It morphs from age to age (ie chubby women used to be sexy because it meant they had enough food = fed babies) but all the underlying reasons have remained unchanged. | ||

Also skinny girls are obviously not pregnant, So you can tell which mates are ready for seeding. Cultural change or choice if you want to call it that is still survival of the fittest even if it is persuaded by thought of the times, it is still part of evolution. They cannot really be pieced out in that way, they are interrelated. Kinda like nature vs. nurture, it is both, not either or. Cultural or social choices though are more short term evolutionary trends, whereas evolution as a whole is seen as a slow=going kind of thing...it really has fast parts to it as well. Hard to explain, but true. By the way...larger breasts do not carry more milk...that is a myth, so there is another reason they are currently being selected by mates in much of the world the last 30-50 years, but these trends change and this one has been on the rise for some time but they are not universal or permanent. Maybe it is just persuasion of the cinema and media and fashion and liberation that caused the trend, or maybe it is the misunderstanding of males who think that they carry more milk, or maybe it is completely outside of any logic and we just don't know why these things occur completely. Males are also attracted to larger eyes, smaller jaw structures and fuller bottom lips...how do all of those things make sense? | ||

Pretty much my opinion too that i've + Show Spoiler [tried] + I wondered about it myself once, why the hell would a non fat person be more attractive aesthetically and sexually? I think it's fairly obvious, fat implies that the person isn't physically active and does not care about his appearance, is lazy and there is always a genetic or mental reason behind it. And you only want the best, most evolved genes to mix your genes with so your progeny is even more improved genetically than yourself. In our age of prosperity and food paradise fat sucks, it's way less necessary than before. Hovewer i'm not sure if it was ever a true sexual attraction, rather than just a short term trend in various societies. And i forgot to comment about by far the most important point of the thread, this female is just ridiculously good. If there is more of her, post it or PM. | ||

Interesting point too, ultimately most of us seek signs that a female is fragile, feminine in a delicate way, with useless and even terrible for survival features like thin arms, big ass and well shaped breasts. We subconsciously consider women to be a jar, with geometrically flawless shape of body and face implying state of overall dna's unfaulty (hence symmetrical face and body that are considered more appealing) and genetic development and hormonal sufficiency (delicate curvy features that required work of many generations), we really only care for her to carry our kids, and the more precious the jar is, the better, and the more of different quality jars, the better also. We don't need our females to be able to survive by themselves, their survival is kind of our business. There's like half a dozen different major archetypes of Africans and they're mostly not tall and muscular. Growing big and strong is a function of the food you have to eat. N. Koreans don't get enough protein so they're tiny. S. Koreans and Japanese have grown significantly since WW2 because they get more protein in their diets. Second, humans don't outrun wild land predators. We're not strong and we're not fast, but we have big brains and that's why we get in groups and poke things with sticks. Also, I don't know how many super fit chicks you know, but it's more difficult for athletic women to get pregnant than non-athletic women. That's kind of a shitty feature if you want to grow your species. Big breasts are also less practical, and I don't really know what to say about the "long legs=bigger jump" comment. The growth of civilization didn't take place in Prince of Persia towers. Also, being "fat" and having a slow metabolism are good things when we're talking about the evolutionary process.
