I got that error. Switched to http and it worked just fine, but despite this being a gaming forum, I don't think we want plain text passwords flying all over the internet, do we?

Was this a recent change? I never saw that message before... have I just never noticed the lack of a green lock, and it's only just recently that Firefox in Ubuntu decided to automatically send me to https when I type in teamliquid, instead of http?

Good thing my password here is the one I use for unimportant stuff that I don't mind if someone gets a hold of

We don't support https for TL due to ad networks using outdated tech that only works with http. There should be no links to the https version of the site, so attempting to go there is only possible by manually entering the URL.

Hah I've told R1CH before, but some of these ad snippets have some type of leak where it's consistently loading. I've noticed it on multiple threads, but it's pretty annoying to keep your memory being used like that :\

On some links on some pages it tries to connect via HTTPS. Only on my Linux machine (Firefox in Linux Mint), but any idea what might cause it.

Seems to be related to this issue since the details are pretty much the same.

Probably the same problem. I also use firefox in linux (Ubuntu, not Mint).

that's unrelated, usually a really shitty ad combined with a firefox bug that triggers in rare cases. I reported that one to the firefox devs a while ago.

I started to get this issue on Windows as well and not all that rarely. If it's an issue of a shitty ad, it might make sense that it happens in waves based on Google Adsense recommendations or something. Should I just report the ads that I get in "Unacceptable Ads" then?

So Chrome is reportedly starting to show a warning for HTTP pages as "unsecure" by default as they claim that a large proportion of the traffic is HTTPS anyway. Is the "ad networks" excuse really still valid? What makes TL special among all the pages that are flocking to HTTPS lately?

good news. not really important for me, but I can see some random users getting discouraged from visiting our glorious site if Chrome starts bitching about it not being safe.
