Greetings TL! With the passing of my old dog a week before last Christmas, my family has decided to get a new pup. My sister, dad, and mom have decided they like the name Bailey.... which is fine IF IT WAS A GIRL. Yes, Bailey can be a guys name, but I personally don't know any guy Bailey's and I think it's a very feminine name.
I have decided to brainstorm a name that would be a better fit, but I am still open to suggestions. I want it to be an awesome name that relates to my childhood while tying itself into the dog's look / personality. Here is a picture of him:
My favorites so far are Optimus Prime (for sheer awesomeness), Doctor Wiley (Doc for short), Maximus (Max), or Little Mac (Mac).
Poll: Pick a name or suggest your own! What fits? (Vote): Bailey (Vote): Little Mac (Vote): Doctor Wiley (Vote): Maximus (Vote): Other (suggest in thread)
Help!

I have a male dog named Bailey so im biased

I've never met any girls named bailey, so the name seems masculine to me.

Why have such long names for a dog? Like what do you say? "Yeah my dog is called Optimus Prime but he tells his friends to call him Opti"... Imo a dog's name should be what you teach him to respond to, so it should be relatively short. Don't have any good suggestions though, sorry. Only name that comes to mind is my friend's cat: Raptor (which in that case is rather fitting).

I come into this thread, briefly read the first post and think, "Yeah, Bailey is a pretty stupid name." And then I scroll down and see that you want to name him Optimus Prime -- for "sheer awesomeness." how typical of an internet forum

Not really a problem. My dog responds to a bunch of different names. A lot of dogs do it

Ideally, dog names should be 2 syllables because they respond best to names like that (I forget where I read this but I'm not making it up). Optimus Prime is definitely not going to fly with my parents or sister and there is no way to shorten it but I thought I'd throw it in the running for comedic effect.
Seriously though, I would like to name it after some sort of character. My sister keeps coming up with these stupid people names like mason, cooper, trevor, etc etc. Those are so lame (no offense if that is your name; I mean strictly in a dog naming sense)!
