my bloody computer is under attack. Someone must have guessed my hotmail password and has currently changed it. I've already tried to change it to a very strong password (including caps, numebers and symbols) but it has already been taken again. My last hope is my secret question but i think it's compromised as well.

Anyone has any idea how to solve this problem? im thinking in mailing hotmail about my account, but i dont know what else to do. Any help is appreciated. I dont know if i might have a keylogger or trojan or something. It doesnt make sense, i've been very careful. I use firefox, have both avast and spybot installed... wtf?????

probably keylogger/trojan on your PC. Maybe change your PW on a different PC, then go back and reformat asap :o

Yeah, since they use the same service and passwords..

Anyways, change your password, since if they can get your pass so quick, is as one person said above, a Keylogger.

Change your password from another computer, and do not sign in in yours, format or try to get an antispyware or some good stuff.

Spybot (Search and Destroy) works charms.

probably got ur pw with a keylogger from ur web browsers. This has been happening a lot lately with game id/password and emails. Thats why microsoft and firefox made new security updates

Hotmail has always been targeted for scams and spam. 123@live and 123@hotmail are strictly different accounts. In general i just meant to change your email without really changing much.

Hotmail carrys a stigma like Vista even if it works just fine now.

i'm quite certain its some kind of trojan that keeps sending your info (ie. passwords and other data) to whoever on the net.

clean format and reinstall is the way to go imo

Download a bootable linux cd. Burn the cd. Boot from the cd. Change your password. Get rid of the spy software on your computer.

yea,

worldofwarcraft has been warning users of this.

basically get all the new updates from the browser companies
run antivirus

restart computer, change all current passwords

that is the basic good start to this problem.. ><

Are you connected to the 'net via an unsecured wireless connection? If there is no encryption on a wireless connection (excluding WEP, since it is broken and is probably next to useless), then literally anyone within wireless range can see everything you send and receive online, in plain text, including passwords (unless you're using SSL, i.e. https).

I personally think it is a keylogger as well, but a neighbour snooping on your wireless connection is another possibility.

Spybot doesn't really catch some of the more tough spyware, I'd recommend using SuperAntiSpyware instead.
