This is a small news post in their site:
"UGT will be launching from two different gateways, generally Ladder Challenges @ U.S East with head admin, S.pG)Nico and op ClanQi with head admins poGDi and SeCo. Nico has been UGT's past administrator with iRk-Agge (Swe B) leader and without doubt has excellent organizational skills. PoGdi, SeCo are respected crew members for GosuGamers.net. There has been much rumor of Ashur helping/advising UGT develop its launcher, the development process has temporarily been halted for enhanced rating systems (including clan rating), UGT admins wishes to work side by side with WSCL to generate clan league."
Anyway, here goes my feedback on this project. UGT is not new, it is an old vanilla ladder. UGT runs on two motors, one is a devout, actually very devout, following of around 300 vanilla players and two, its creator, one of the most interesting (and crazy) characters I have met in the StarCraft world: his name is Qj.Tiger, or darktiger. He has closed and opened UGT more times than any ladder should survive but every time he brings it back up, it is a little stronger, a little better and little bigger.
He has the know-how himself to actually run a decent Battle.net-based ladder and has done so, pretty much single handed for the vanilla community on multiple occasions. He now wants to open the doors for the Brood War community and is allowing both Brood W ar & vanilla games on the ladder (players chose by mutual accord.) They will call this Qi-Tour Ladder League.
the active channels are Ladder Challenges @ East (Vanilla) and op soulClan @ West (BW)
They are in talks with WSCL for a proposed community merger, WSCL gaining a ladder, and UGT expanding by adding a whole community of Brood War players. Both UGT and WSCL are seeking help & staff. If you want to help, go volunteer! (ex-PGTour staff welcome).
I am sure you will find some good games at UGT and, since their rather secret opening, they have been very active (maybe too active for their small operation, their channel is already maxed).

I think you can practice 1:1 sooner than you think.. they had 300 games in 5 hours.. not bad going.

fucking lazy. before pgt you ALWAYS had to do this. Just because this isnt pgt doesnt make it worse. it takes literally 5 seconds to report a match.

(for those who are unaware, I am periodically being whispered by UGTBot about their ladder, and apparently it was telling everyone who entered op tl-west about the ladder until finally insane banned it, but I guess it still remembers my name -_-;; )

nice! hopefully a new ladder will draw many players and get the comunity a little more active than it already is

I remember UGT from when I was in team SouL. The only real problem with it is the lack of players, but it seems that problem is disappearing. Other that that it is just annoying having to have winner report _THEN_ loser report or the bot will not work correctly.
Still, the competition was good and it was fun ^^;; I hope to see this season work out better than the last.
