Korea, Japan and Taiwan Qualifier

With Intel Extreme Masters Sao Paulo coming up in January, it's time for the participants to be determined. Eight players will have the Chance to qualify online again!

Two of the best players from Asia will qualify for Sao Paulo. You must advance through 2 stages to do so. See how below for Korea, Japan and Taiwan.


Restrictions

  • You must be located in Korea, Taiwan or Japan, or having the nationality of one of the country at the time of Stage 1 to be able to participate.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age by January 28th 2014 (the date of the LAN event)
  • Hotel and flight cost are paid for in full by ESL.

Stage 1 : Wednesday, Dec 18 8:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
Asia Stage 2 : Friday, Dec 20 8:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)

Best of 3 in all rounds.

In a Best of 3 map veto (removal and pick) system is used. The high seeded player(seeds can be found at round 1 on the grid page) decides who starts. Players take it in turn removing maps until only 3 maps remain in a best of 3. Then each player picks a map. Maps are played in order they are picked. The remaining map is played last.

Look at some of the confirmed participants: Dear, Life, Parting, Maru, Rain, Effort, Soo, Soulkey...

I hope that most of these games will be broadcasted.

I guess Sen might, he has a tiiiiny chance of making it through. Then again, Korea gets lumped in with China and SEA for the Asian qualifiers any ways, so grouping Korea with Taiwan/Japan isn't too silly, as they wouldn't get in even with their own qualifier.

I doubt Sen is even participating. It feels like he's on his way out of SC2.
