FOLLOWERS TOURNAMENT # 7

Ladies and gamers, after another month we bring you the next installment of Followers. This is the first one played in Heart of The Swarm as well! Most things remain unchanged, but here is some more info:

Because of unranked play, we are changing the seeding rules to account for this. This means that for players that have played in the tournament in the past, we will back-track their tournament results and assign points depending on how far they made it into the tournament (1 point for Ro16, 2 points for Ro8, 3 points for Ro4, 4 points for finishing 3rd, 5 points for finishing 2nd and 6 points for finishing 1st.) Points are cumulative for all previous tournaments. For players that have never made it into the bracket, we will still use their SC2 ladder ranking when determining seeding.

Previous winners:

Rules:
Not knowing the rules does not excuse their violation!!! By signing up to this event you agree to KNOW AND ABIDE BY these rules:
+ Show Spoiler +
You are to be present and available for the whole duration of the event, until knocked out of the bracket, both in person and logged in in-game chat channel starcraft://group/2/1640! Leaving during the tournament for no valid reason will earn you a red card.

Check-in:
All participating players including seeded players and possible substitutes are required to be logged into Group BelleNOiRtv chat channel (starcraft://group/2/1640) on EU battle.net 30 minutes before tournament starts. (13:30 GMT (+00:00)) Failing to be present in the group chat channel at tournament start time (14:00 GMT (+00:00) will count as a player not checking in and will not be able to play and his bracket spot will be awarded to the first available substitute. You check in by typing „USER NAME – CHECK IN“. Please use CAPS so the admins don't miss the message. Admins will ackowledge the message by typing „USERNAME – OK“. Also please don't spam the chat needlessly during the check-in period to make the admin's job easier, thank you :-)

Battle.net settings:
All players are required to uncheck the „only allow friends to send me invites“ and „only allow friends to send me chat messages“ check boxes in SC2 and have „set status to busy when in-game“ checked (options -> battle.net).

Race
Each player must play every game of the event as the race he stated in his tournament application

Replays
All replays must be saved

Observers
Only the staff members listed at the end of this document are allowed to observe a match. No other observers are permitted.

Pausing the game
If a player wants to pause a game, he has to give a reason for the pause and estimated time of pause. You can only unpause the game once your opponent agrees. Reasonable pauses are within the 5 minute limit mark. Longer pauses can be grounds for punishement or map loss, decided by the admin.

Match start:
For starting your match, browse the brackets to find out who your oponent is, then contact them in-game and Veto the maps according to our veto system below. Each map can be played only once in a match. Random players are required to post their race in the game chat before the game timer shows 00:30. Failing to do so is grounds for a red card.

Vetoing maps
Players take turns to veto maps. Player with the lower seed begins the veto. Each player can eliminate 1 map from the map pool in a Bo5, and 2 maps from the map pool in a Bo3. Those will be taken out of the map pool for the series. Then both players continue to veto to determine the final map, 2nd map and starting map to be played (5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st map to be played in the case of Bo5). Each map can be played only once in a match. An admin must be present in the chat with the players during the whole process if the match is to be streamed.

No-shows:
Waiting time after tournament starts is 15 minutes for the first round and then 10 minutes for each additional round. If your opponent is not present at this time, you are to inform the admin of the tourney to get a BYE.

Disconnects:
If any a player disconnects before game timer shows 5:00, there is an automatic rematch on the same map. If a disconnect occurs after this time, the players resume the game from a replay.

Cheating
If you suspect your opponent of cheating, you must inform the admin immediately and supply him with a replay of the game in question for analysis. We advise you to finish the said game so there is more data to analyze. Complaints not issued immediately upon suspicion will not be looked upon! (So if you suspect foul play and finish the series regardless and then try to file a complaint, you are out of luck)

Results:
You are to report the final result of EVERY game of a match to the admin of the tourney. Example: „Player A 1-0 Player B“ after first game of a Bo3 match played.

Additional rules:
Excessive BM, hate talk or balance whine is NOT tolerated. If you are reported for BM, you may be punished.
If an admin contacts you to hold your next match on account of it being streamed, you are required to comply.
Players' main contacts are the tournament admin(s) in-game, should you have any questions or need directions. Questions regarding the tournament asked by the players in the stream chat will be ignored.

As punishment for any transgressions you can recieve a yellow card a red card or a black card. 2 yellow cards = 1 red card. A red card = immediate disqualification and a ban from the next tournament. Yellow and red cards stay in effect for the next tournament, and are erased afterwards. A black card means you will be banned from the event forever and stays in effect indefinetely.

Some examples: BMing an opponent, staff etc = yellow card. Failing to comply with admin directions = red card, leaving during the event without valid explanation/reason = red card. Smurfing, cheating (of any kind) = black card.

All other cases not mentioned here are handled by the tournament admins and staff. Their decision is final and there is no appeal.

Failing to comply with admin’s directions results in an immediate red card.

Currently issued cards:
+ Show Spoiler +
Hordeon – red card
JackO – red card

Prize pool distribution and payment
+ Show Spoiler +
1st place: $32
2nd place: $16
3rd place: $8
Every other participating player in the bracket: $4

All prize are paid out in the period of maximum of 30 days following the day the event was held, by an electronic transfer to your paypal account. If your paypal account address is not valid, or if you supplied an invalid account, or your account does not exist (for any reason), you automatically forfeit your prize in favor of the event organizer

Hope you have fun! ♥

Hi there. Sorry for the late reply - was out of town. Usually the level of play is masters and above. Couple of diamond & platinum players are always mixed in, bat that was still WoL. In either case, don't be afraid to sign. The tournament is usually good fun and in case the admins select your match to be casted, you have a memory for life

I've been out of town for the past 2 days guys - sorry about that. I'll get replies to all of you as soon as I can (probably tomorrow) and this time I will also check my spam filter multiple times.

As for Jordan_, if can check for you specifically if you tell me your sc2 name (so I have something to search for to identify it is your email) ;-)

Well to clarify - the only thing Im checking in the applications is if they meet all the requirements (follwoer of the stream, has paypal, profile info etc). If you actually make it to the bracket or not - that can only be seen on the day of the tournament, after the check-ins. Just as everywhere else. The only difference is - Im doing everything manually, while webs like Playhem have it automated.

Emails have been sent, brackets made. Note, that this is not the final bracket, only all the players that met the requirements have been entered. You all still need to check-in at 15:30 CEST to make it through. Be fast, so you get in, as we have 28 players! GL & HF!
