The fun has begun within the pace changing Ribbon's Mirror Tournaments, having already displaced the norms of one matchup's metagame in Ribbon's No Spire ZvZ Tour. We now move onto something more challenging. A matchup between players held to a higher standard, in a redefinition of the strategic TvT municipality. Games often compared to chess, this is the closest vicarious experience of Garry Kasparov our amazingly talented invites will ever have the chance to live out.

As the second edition rests on the dawn of the horizon, the possibilities remain endless. Terran may not be able to proxy nydus on Destination, or lurker their way to a comeback win when down two bases, but they sure have firebat drops. With that, this round has far more variables and more nail biting, hair pulling dramatic gameplay. The rest is explained below.

[image loading]

*One Factory
* 8 Players
* Best of 5 Rounds
* Best of 7 Finals

All games will be played Saturday, September 22nd at 19CET on Fish server in Op Ribbon. The cast will take place Sunday, September 23rd starting at 16CET on Hacklebeast's channel

This time around, there is no open registration. This is not because it wasn't successful last time, but simply because the unknown element of time for an altered TvT format. Don't worry guys, we'll surely have more for you coming soon.

+ Show Spoiler [Rules] +

* All Players are subject to administrative discretion.

* Do not build more than 1 factory at any given time. If you lose your factory, you may rebuild it.

* All replays must be sent to RibbonsMirror@gmail.com immediately after the completion of a round. The winner must send in both wins and losses. Failure to do so will result in replacement.

* All games must be played on Fish Server using Mini-Launcher or ChaosLauncher.

* No Korean IP addresses.

* WalkOvers for entire sets will be based on a 7 minute timer. For a best of 3, 21 minutes. Best of 5, 35 minutes, etc. Since this wasn't clear last tournament, if a player pauses or goes afk, you cannot unpause or expect a walkover for 7 minutes.

* This is a one day tournament. The only match that will even be considered for postponement will be the finals.

Not yet. If Mewka makes another liquipedia entry, we'll obviously just give him 4th place.

Here we go.
BBS, 2port, nuke rush, and ...

Sounds even better than the no spire zvz tournament.
Why wasn't the registration priority given to players who play Terran as a main race ?

1) The non-T players there can play all 3 races at a high level.
2) At least 2 people won't show up, so the reserves will most likely play.
3) It was whoever responded first.

Quick rule clarification: It's one factory at any one time. If it dies, you can rebuild it.

And, of course, you're allowed to use it however you wish.

Just thought I'd make that crystal clear before anyone got confused

I think this rule could be written more comprehensively, because right now, it's kind of confusing. I'm not even going to try and dissect why the walkover rules for latecomers/afk people is in the same category as paused-game players.

every time you delay games from being played by an increment 7 minutes, you lose one game. There was only one person who had a problem with that rule last time.

Here we go again. I really enjoyed No Spire ZvZ series, hope this tournament turns out to be better! I can't even begin to imagine the possibilities unlike the previous tournament

Actually, that sounds really reasonable and practical.

In the case of Eonzerg, his issue was that his opponent paused the game suddenly, without letting him know that the game was going to be paused. It wasn't until Eonzerg unpaused that his opponent said "I need 4 minutes, manner". There was no specific rule regarding pause protocol, and since Technics continued to play, so I'm not sure why Eonzerg was disqualified, even though he won 2-1 over Technics.
