Your team has succeeded in advancing to the ro8 for the third season in a row
San: It’s true we’ve reached ro8 but we’ve never reached the finals. I hope we get further this season and I want to contribute.
Freaky: we’ve consistently gotten into ro8 but it’s a shame we never got to the finals. I hope this season changes that.
You scored one kill in the first match and two kills today.
Freaky: in my game against Hero yesterday, I wasn’t able to do a thing. I was chosen as the starting player today and I worried a lot. However, I have gained so much in the past week. I have qualified for Code A and won three games in GSTL and it’s made me taken me aback somewhat.
Against all expectations, you finished the match with three kills.
San: People watching the GSTL may not have expected it but within the team, this was all according to plan. I was doing well in practice. I volunteered to take down Life.
What was your reason for taking on Life who’s on a tear lately?
San: no special reason. I just have experience beating him often on the ladder. I was using my smurf against him so I’d identified his style.

You actively utilised the infestor today. Any special reason?
Freaky: I tried using mutalisks against Terran but the control is rather difficult. Even in ZvP, mutalisk play was the go to build but now Protosses have figured it out. I support builds that rely on infestors for safety and transitioning into the late game. Infestors allow for safe play.
You’ve even earned the nick name of Kam, Tae Young (T/N: his surname is actually Kim and the nickncame sounds like infestor in Korean) and rightly so with your mastery with the infestor
Freaky: I like infestors and infested terrans. Even within the team, they call me “infesty” and I had no idea I would start to be called something like that in public. I’m glad I have a nickname but I’m still a bit taken aback.
You have failed to return to the GSL for almost a year now. Why do you think that is?
San: weirdly, I just do terribly at the qualifiers. Things always go awry on the day of the qualifier. For example, the subway will get delayed so I’ll be out of breath, I won’t be able to sleep the day before or the computer starts to lag so I mess up my forcefields. I am really frustrated by this.
Your first match in ro8 is against Starttale.
San: Startale has been a hurdle for us many times. I hope that we beat them no matter what this season. As long as we beat Startale, I think ro4 is a certainty for us.
Freaky: Startale has good race diversity and they are all equally good. I expect a match of epic proportions and it will be a difficult one too.
Anyone you want to face on Startale?
San: no, everyone on that team is so good that I can’t select one out.
Freaky: same here. And honestly, I’m not too confident about my own skill. My fundamentals are lacking and I need more experience.
Anything to add?
San: After many losses, I was able to take three wins today. I want to thank all those who supported me during this time. I want to thank the coach who had faith in me to send me out and my parents who always cheer me on. I also want to thank Losira who wished me luck in his qualifier interview.
Freaky: while preparing for the match against SlayerS, Curious helped me out. I want to thank him. I want to thank my teammates who did so well despite the busy schedule the past week.
I haven’t posted any results so far so with this week’s wins, I think my parents will be happy. I want to thank my parents and I will work even harder from now on.
