But I am unable to download the video part, which is a major deal for me since I need to use a proxy to access blip.tv in the first place (blocked in China, what the fuck) so letting the video buffer for long periods of time is impractical. Any help would be appreciated. | ||

Now, the File for #1 is 91MB large, just as yours, a flash video (.flv) - unlike more recent episodes which are mp4s. The video plays fine. What I think your problem is: The video actually is blank the first 10 or so seconds while he is already talking. That's just the way the video is. Try watching past the first few seconds and your problem is gone :D | ||

Now I just need to figure out why MPC-HC refuses to open >< | ||

Anyway, please do ME a favor and do not use the piece of shit called VLC (even though it does play quite a few video formats). MPC-HC is fine imho. I use the (DAUM) PotPlayer though which is the successor to the KMP and pretty much the best player in every aspect other than maybe streaming. | ||
