The guy is totally fear mongering, however what he says is legit. They cannot really do what this guy says the US would do, but they would have the law to do it, so basically giving them power. This kind of power is very very very dangerous if you ask me.

Now, US residents might be in trouble, but megaupoad serviced the entire world, and there is no way that the US could get thousands of people extradited for this.

You have a point. They could prosecute, but the sheer amount of people who availed of their services (lawbreakers, the lot of them!) would cost a huge amount of resources.

Oh, and there's the whole "everyone you know is going to prison" thing that would probably cause riots.

They don't care about the little guys, they just want to catch the big fish.

Rofl, why would the dutch government deliver me and the rest of the dutch people to the american government for doing something what is legal in my own country while doing that in my own country.

Besides 25% of the internet is a bit much even for American prisons.

They have the ability to do this, but they would have to sue individually and the court cases would take years (look at Jammie Thomas-Rasset's multi-million-dollar infringement case, five years and still going). If they are going to, they will pick say ten of the worst offenders and go after them. But only a tiny fraction of the site's users are ever going to be hit.

If they do, by past trends, it will be UPLOADERS that are sued, not downloaders. With downloads they will only have an IP address that may or may not have been yours, and no absolute proof that your download was infringement, court costs would be far too high to justify proceeding.

Annoying video, annoying voice, annoying way of talking. I don't take seriously people who address their audience as if they were talking to a bunch of kids or retards.

I'm happy megaupload got closed, this Kim Dotcom was a complete jerk although I am of course against PIPA and SOPA.

Thinking American courts will sue hundred thousand of people is just ridiculous.
