The Terran I played went a 1 rax fast expo, I thought, Hm he has no rines or wall in, I can do an easy ling run-by, its a huge success, and so I know I'm pretty far ahead. THIS IS A HUGE MISTAKE, I decide a 2-base roach all-in is a good choice. This was obviously my biggest mistake, I attack with some lings and like 25 roaches, he holds, so I'm not behind. It goes downhill from here, so I know that I fucked up there. What SHOULD I have done once I got ahead? And what should I have done after my failed all-in? Also, what composition should I go against Marine tank?

the saying of the great one Artosis " Once ahead get more ahead" meaning take an extra expo or if you feel really ahead take a double expo

I honestly couldn't understand your OP whatsoever. Trying my best to understand, you did a ling runby that worked vs 1rax FE, so you're ahead, then you 2base roach allin (good choice? huh?), but it's your biggest mistake... he holds, but you're NOT behind, despite saying it was an allin? So confused.

General day[9] approved(TM) advice: if you're ahead, just remain ahead. You don't need to try to end the game there with some silly all-in, you're ahead! Keep playing standard and that should secure the win.

Ling/baneling/muta (lots of mutas) into broodlord/infestor is, I believe, the most standard play vs marine/tank. At least that's what IdrA does pretty much every time. You roll the banelings into the marines, use lings to surround/attack everything, mutas to kill isolated tanks/reinforcements. You keep containing the terran until you can safely tech to hive and then transition into broodlords/infestors, which are very hard to deal with for terran.
