It's to "stop account sharing" for the HD Access, pretty shitty that it stops you watching both streams at once.

Between now and Raleigh, we will look into incorporating this functionality into our security procedures, but taking steps to address the issue while the tournament is live runs a high risk of interfering with the broadcasts. Therefore, if you want to watch more than one stream at once, only one can run in HQ; the other(s) can run in Medium or Low quality. You can easily swap which stream you’re watching in HQ by lowering the quality on one, and signing in to the other with your Membership code.

I'm pretty sure it's based on the vouch code they give you to unlock the HQ stream, basically you can't have the same code "active" at the same time

Hmm i read that you can't open 2 streams whit free low q , but if you buy pass i think you can , if not that really sux , for someone that support e-sports

Yeah, they want you to watcch one in free quality and switch when you want...which means an ad...which sucks cause the ads suck.

They hope to have it fixed for Raleigh and I really hope they do, didn't know about this going into buying a membership and it's a real bummer considering how I had 2 hq streams open for all of Columbus.

That being said, the Ultra quality is stellar for me, hope it doesn't dip when games actually start like it has for past MLGs.

you can watch 4 at once if you want too but only one can be HQ at a time.

and don't worry it'll dip pretty hard once the numbers come in. I remember last Code S finals you could literaly count the pixels on the screen.

That's ridiculous, if I pay for an HQ account and they are running two streams at the same time I should be able to watch both in HQ, period, not have to choose one or the other. Only run one stream at a time if you're going to pull crap like this on your customers/fans.

This is the same kind of crap satellite TV providers pulled for years, if you want to watch something different on a different TV you need two (or more depending on how many TVs you have) receivers, and guess what they both cost the same. Eventually the satellite companies realized people were leaving them for cable in part because of bullshit policies like that so they changed them and developed new technology so you don't need a full receiver for each television, hopefully MLG will realize that one day this move will bite them in the ass and change course.

Sucks a bit, but they say that they are looking into it for future events, so I don't mind

Edit: I don't get why people complain that much about it. If I understand it correctly, buying the Silver Membership gives you 3 month of those "membership-features", which means that for what used to be the price of one, I now get 3 events in HQ (Anaheim, Raleigh & Orlando)? I can live with 1 HQ stream, with no lag or interruptions this one event.

Ya but see Blizzard gets half that ad revenue, I bet MLG gets 100% of the revenue from selling HQ passes.

They already are making money from selling HQ passes, now they're just being greedy about it.

It'd be like if you have all Horde characters on WoW (you're watching HD MLG Red Stream) and want to make an Alliance (watch HD MLG Blue Stream too at the same time), guess what? You need to pay double the monthly fee, that's two different sides (streams) to play (watch in HD)!
