great!
'I feel like my muta-micro has finally reached the level of a progamer'
On January 6th, great(Samsung Khan) defeated Action(KT) during the PDPop MSL 2010 Ro16:Day1, held at the Munlae Hero Center.
Great showed great mutalisk micro and crushed Action. After stating that he is not at a stage to get overconfident yet, Great said "I will concentrate on providing the fans with an entertaining game."
- How do you feel after going 1:0
▲ I am happy to have won the first game of my Ro16 match. Since it is not over yet, I am concentrating on not becoming overly confident.
- How was today's game
▲ I practice with Action alot usually, so we know each other's style well. I was praying for the 1 o'clock spot, but it turned out that I got the opposite, but it's good that I won anyway. 1 o'clock mines much faster [T/N: really?]. Even though I lost a drone early game, I didn't get flustered, and since I started out greedy I didn't think it would affect my game too much.
- Your ZvZ has improved recently
▲ In the past, I couldn't micro my mutalisks during broadcasted matches very well, so I told myself 'you can't use mutalisks,' but I think I fixed it through practice. I feel like I can finally look at my mutalisk micro and say 'that's a progamer's muta-micro.'
- Do you want to do better than the Ro8 this time
▲ Since so many zergs got to the Ro16, I think most of them are hoping for Ro8 or better. The fact that alot of terrans dropped out has been helping us zergs out. Personally I want to play a game where I can show the full extent of my skills to my fans. I have been concentrating on trying to play an entertaining game for the fans.
- Any last words
▲ For this match I only practiced with my teammates, and our team's terrans even offraced as zerg to help me practice. Also there is a player called hOpe that sits next to me, and he has enlightened me on little details that I never knew, and I want to say thank you to him.

Winner of Midas vs Jaedong
+ Show Spoiler +
Jaedong!
'I want to show an even more matured Jaedong in 2011'
On January 6th, Jaedong the 'Tyrant'(Hwaseung Oz) claimed victory over Midas the 'Oldboy'(Wemade FOX) during the PDPop MSL 2010 Ro16:Day1, held at the Munlae Hero Center.
As soon as Jaedong scouted Midas' 14CC he pulled a large number of drones and rushed him without hesitation, followed by a wave of zerglings. It seemed as though Midas' SCV blocking and bunker would fend off the aggression, but Jaedong, in what seemed to be a display of his unique persistence, pumped zerglings and robbed Midas of victory.
Jaedong said "as soon as I saw the opponent's placement of his barracks, I decided to cheese. I decided to rush based on the fact that the marines would spawn in a position that would force them to go around the barracks. Even though there wasn't much content to the game, I am happy to have won."
- How do you feel leading 1:0 after the first day of the Ro16
▲ Recently I haven't been doing well, so I wanted to regain my confidence before Winners League through a fabulous game today, but after I saw his opening I decided to cheese. Even though it wasn't the greatest game, I am happy to have won.
- Why did you cheese
▲ Looking at the barracks placement, I could see that the marine would spawn on the outside. I also thought he hadn't seen my scouting overlord, so I cheesed.
- It seemed as though your aggression was foiled with the completion of his bunker
▲ I should've focused fired but instead a-moved the drones, so I screwed up. However since my lings were almost out I thought I could win it with good micro. I think Midas got overconfident after fending off the initial rush.
- A lot of people are predicting you to win the MSL in the absence of Flash
▲ I thank you all for your support but it's only the Ro16 and Flash isn't my only opponent in the world. All the players are playing to win and they are very skilled, so I am planning to take it one step at a time. If I just continue with that mindset, I suspect I might be wearing the golden badge after all has been said and done.
- Your ZvT has been lacking recently
▲ I have been weirdly unfortunate in recently broadcasted games. Because my ZvT has not been suffering in practice, I don't think it will be a problem once I regain my confidence. I think this Ro16 is important in that regard.
- Winners League is about to start, can we expect an all-kill
▲ Because it is so damn hard, I'm thinking two at most, but personally I'm not going for the all-kill opportunity; instead, I want to be a solid anchor for our team.
- You must want to a show an improved Jaedong with the turn of the year
▲ Not just me but all our teammates have resolved to show improved gameplay this year. I have reflected upon my mistakes in 2010, and want to show a more matured self in 2011. I've already reached an age where I have more uprising youngsters than higher-ups to look up to in the progaming scene.
- Any other words
▲ Our entire coaching staff and team eagerly awaits Winners League to bring about a turn of events. We have been practicing hard, abiding by the saying that 'Hard work does not betray,' so I hope our fans will cheer for us.

Winner of Hydra vs Classic
+ Show Spoiler +
Hydra!
'I could easily predict Valkyries'
On January 6th, Hydra(Hite Entus) defeated Classic(STX Soul) during the PDPop MSL 2010 Ro16:Day1, held at the Munlae Hero Center.
Hydra earned time through muta-ling aggression and then lurker contain to transition to a fabulous defiler-guardian combo and win the game.
- You won the critical first match
▲ I'm happy of course but since I still have two more games next week I want to hold off celebrating until I am in the Ro8 for sure.
- You beat him in Proleague as well
▲ I think that helped me play with confidence. I was more confident in my mutalisk micro.
- Classic went fast Valkyries
▲ Because Classic has shown so many different styles of play I prepared for all of them. Fast Valkyries were easily within the range of prediction so I was not flustered.
- Your spawning pool was sniped by dropship play at one point
▲ Since I already had a lurker contain, I didn't think it would affect the flow of the game. After fending off the marine-medic army at my expansion at 5, I thought I had the upperhand.
- You are doing well in Proleague as well; it must be regretful that you are out of the OSL
▲ I've been trying to stay positive. Since you can't be perfect in everything, I've tried not to think about it after I was booted from the OSL.
- How did you prepare for this match
▲ I have practiced a full day and a half since yesterday, but it wasn't too difficult as I knew my opponent's race and only had to prepare for one game.
- Any last words
▲ I want to thank all my teammates, and additionally SKT's Fantasy, Airforce ACE's firebathero and Iris for helping me practice. Also, happy new year to all my fans.

Winner of Stork vs Bisu
+ Show Spoiler +
Stork!
“I will do my best to reach the Ro8 with a 2:0”
On January 6th, Stork the 'Commander'(Samsung KHAN) defeated Bisu the 'Revolutionist'(SKT) during the PDPop MSL 2010 Ro16:Day1, held at the Munlae Hero Center.
After a tense back and forth from the very beginning, Stork overpowered Bisu with excellent multitasking, and continued his string of flawless victories that started in Proleague and continued onto the OSL.
- You are 1:0 against Bisu now
▲ Since the map was Benzene I think we were both well-prepared. As a result I played with a comfortable mindset and I think that helped me win.
- You lost alot of probes to Bisu's initial reaver drop
▲ I saw his shuttle at 6 on the minimap and placed my dragoons accordingly, but I still took alot of damage, and thought I would lose. However after winning the battle at 6, I looked at his natural expansion, and I had mined about 150 more minerals from each patch. I thought the gap in the expansion timing would ultimately lead to my victory. Brave recommended this build, and I thank him for that.
- How did you practice for this match
▲ Since Winners League is just around the corner, I had to practice not just one map but all the maps, and I just prepared for the individual leagues that way. Since most maps are pretty good for protoss, it's not too bad.
- You have your OSL match soon
▲ I'm still a little worried but I hope the momentum I built today can carry me into victory tomorrow. I have been performing poorly in PvT recently [T/N: ???] so I am worried facing off against HiyA.
- Your fans' support was impressive
▲ It's been such a long time since the last time I had this much support at Munlae Hero Center. In the past MSL finals, I remember Bisu coming back from a disadvantage to beat me, and I will be sure to 2:0 so such an atrocity does not happen again. I think that's what my fans deserve for their support.
- Any last words
▲ I thank Brave for recommending me this build, and I also thank all my fans for their unwavering support. I hope to continue producing good games in the future.
