With a short break between the StarCraft 2 Beta phase 1 and phase 2/release of the game, I am taking the last opportunity to host Season 2 of the State of Origin StarCraft: Brood War Competition. With the unprecendented success of the previous season, in which the imba QLD/NT team took out the Grand Final against NSW/ACT, it would be a shame to end the SoO legacy so soon. Regarded for single-handedly reviving the Aussie SC:BW scene, the second installment seeks to reproduce this feat - which saw living legend

While the beta in Australia looking to make less of an impact than expected (being stuck on the SEA server, high cost of the game) I am hopeful that there will be enough interest in the event to form at least four competitive state teams. Now might be the last chance to have a significant number of Australian players active in the SC1 scene so hop on board! The prize last season was that an All-Star Team of the best SoO performers got the chance to show their skills on the big stage with a showmatch against American team Evil Geniuses, which the State All-Stars ended up taking out 4-1.

The format last season was 5 A-Teams consisting of one or two states (QLD/NT KHAN, NSW/ACT ACE, SAWA Stars, VIC Entus, VIC T1), with competition rounds played in best-of-five format including 3 1v1s, a 2v2 and an ACE match. Individual games were BO3, with the ACE being BO1. The finals were BO7. There were also B-Teams which turned out as a great way of meeting new local players and even resulted in an active Aussie D to C rank clan, Terror Australis, headed by various B-Team captains from SoO.
Round 2 should be following a similar format to last season, see details below.
Details
- Date: Round 1 starting June 24th
- Location: iCCup server, channel "op [TA]" on iCCup
