SC2 Replay

Hello guys. Isnt about time to open an SC2 Replay Section? Makes it alot easier to see what players have uploaded reps etc. Vote function and all that comes with it.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Think everyone knows about that thread. What he's talking about is a page like their SC1 replay section.

Do you seriously think I havent seen that topic? It just feels bad to scan through the topic and see a bunch of nonamers(no offense to anyone, sorry but dno how to put it with better words) spamming reps. It must also discourage the better players.. One thing thats good posting good reps is the encouraging positive comments. In that mass any rep can get lost and get only 50 views or sth.

An even better idea would be to add a feature to the site similar to how replays.com works. Users can select and upload their own replay files to teamliquid. Some algorithm then analyzes the replay and extracts information like races/maps/player names/game length and displays them on the a page along with a download link. Anyone can upload a replay and make it public to everyone else. Teamliquid staff can then select replays from that list and mark them as pro/top or something similar which would display them on the front page.

Would love to see a feature like this if teamliquid staff has the time and server power to support it. If teamliquid doesn't do it someone else will. I think it will be much easier to get replays from top players in SC2 compared to BW since the scene won't be as centered around Korean televised and controlled tournaments and pro teams (At least early on). So replays in SC2 will be more important for a site that is focused on following the very best players compared to BW.

IMO this doesn't make a whole lot of sense until release, given how quickly the game is going to change, and how quickly current skill levels are going to be surpassed.

Do we even know if the release version will be able to play replays from the beta? The beta currently keeps the old exes to do it, but given the rate of patching, it seems awkward for the release versions to have 20 or 30 exes for replay watching that only a few people would use.

Even if beta replays won't be able to play on the release version of SC2, it would still be a good idea to have the feature ready before release. Both to make sure the feature is working when the game is live and to make sure that teamliquid becomes the site people go to when they want to upload or find new replays. (If that is what the teamliquid admins want)
