But guess what, starcraft being korean's national sport, is being owned (sponosored) by a Japanese company? are all the korean company just poor and helpless as usual?

most electronic companies are japanese and are very enthusiastic about sponsoring gaming events. However, its not only samsung that sponsors Ongamenet.

What about Coca-cola and Hanbitsoft, are you going to claim they too are japanese?

What about the fact that samsung will sponsor almost any gaming event placed in front of them, proven by their willingness to sponsor almost every nation's WCG along with the main WCG event.

If you ask me, the starcraft tourneys own the sponsor as the sponsor has something too good to give up, so they arent about to leave.

What about Japan? Are they not good enough to host their own league so Japanese companies don't have to go abroad?

hey man, you know WHY panasonic sponsered ongamenet? Because they know it is very good advertisment, because lots of korean's follow starcraft. So they offered the most money, and ongamenet took the offer. They both benifit.

But if i was you, i would say something like this:

Japan has to sponser ongamenet so Koreans will know about that company, so they might buy it. The japanese are too poor to buy the electronics so they are targeting Koreans to buy it to get buisness.

NOTE: I, personally, do not agree at all to what paragraph up there i just wrote. NOTHING in it is what i truely believe. i'm just making a point about how he sounds to me. Alright? So no offence to any SMART japanese

hey japan rules, you should harvest your energy into helping your country fix their banking system (which by the way is in horrible shape, it could lead to the collapse of your nation's economy)

every nationality has their strengths and weaknesses. I think all of us on this board have great respect for the talents and accomplishments of these korean pro-gamers. I ermember watching a vod for the first time, in shock at how they control their units so fluidly. Japan also has its strengths... but it just shows an incredible lack of self-esteem and lots of repressed anger(possible child abuse) that you are so jealous of korean's success in SC to the point that you have to make these kinds of insults. I respect Japan in many ways, they have done an incredible job of rising up from a farming nation to the world's second largest economy. But let me remind you about Go or i-go as the japanese call it. That is truly your national sport with tournaments held for many centuries. They even had a royal GO family back in the day. It must be a great shame for you to see Cho Chikun capture title after title, and break japanese records that have stood seemingly forever. Now, a tiny taiwanese boy Cho U is raping the top japanese stars. So I wouldn't talk about domination of a national sport by a foreign country if I were you.

So company comes to ongamenet, such as panassonic or sky telecom and signs a fucking contract with a shitload of cash, well not that much tho, a year ago, a sponsored starleague cost to a company willing to make the deal something close to 150 000$for a 3 months advertisement through the league.
