I created a league for the NBA Stock Exchange game. It is similar to fantasy but there are a few important differences. In the Stock Exchange game, you start with a $180 budget and you select a team of 12 NBA players based on their stock price which is based on free market principles. You can buy and sell players throughout the course of the NBA season and their price will rise and fall based on supply and demand. Therefore, even though you can't trade with other teams, you can trade as often as you like by buying and selling on the open market. This format also means that we can have an unlimited number of teams in our league.

The league is open to everyone, however I was also thinking about having a winner takes all pool with a small buyin of between $10-$50. If you don't want to pay to play, that is fine, go ahead and join anyway. If you are interested in the paid pool, please post here on how much you would like to play for. Good thing about this format is that we can all play together. The highest finisher among the paid pool entries will win but both the free and the paid teams can all play together.

The NBA Stock Exchange (NBASE) uses a points-based scoring system with the following points awarded for each of the following statistical categories:

Field Goals Made (FGMA) 0.54
Free Throw Missed (FTMI) -0.75
Free Throw Made (FTMA) 0.25
Points Scored (PT) 0.50
3-point Shots Made (3PT) 1.00
Total Rebounds (REB) 1.50
Assists (AST) 1.99
Steals (ST) 3.00
Turnovers (TO) -2.00
Blocked Shots (BLK) 3.00

It really doesn't matter if you pay or not. If you don't pay, you just won't win any money. For example, let's say 20 people join and 10 pay and 10 play for free. If one of the free people end up in first, they still won't win any money. Only the top finisher among the paid people will win the cash money. However, unlike a traditional fantasy league, we can all play together.
