Hi guys...

I was just handling lots of icons in my desktop today and I found my self Ctrl+Clicking while trying to select all similar icons at the same time... like if that would work... hahaha

I was then thinking, how has starcraft hotkeying affected your daily life, from typing faster to making silly mistakes like mine.

I guess I'm pretty good at any shortcut requiring ctrl and any other key because of hotkeying control groups lol

I like to spam box-select icons on the desktop as though they were idle SCVs.

I also spam Ctrl+Tab/Ctrl+PageUp/Ctrl+PageDown/Alt+Tab to cycle tabbed windows and windows quickly so that I can detect a drop on any of my applications and transfer SCVs.

I also idly 1a2a3a4a5a.

I'm a programmer so my typing was already fast, but precision is better (particularly around the b, v, and p keys).

This thread sucks and is embarassing. :p

I think its really only affected my typing.. Of course i been using a comp for many years now, since I was like 13-14.. so about 10 years.. so you're bound to increase ur efficiency level, but I started out having to look at the keys while typing etc..
then I think BW really helped bridge the gap, through playing online, even though I was super noob at the time, playing money maps, having to type all the time..

"help"
"go counter"
"he coming me"
"i tech"
"lets go red"
"u D up, i'll finish zerg"
etc..

so ya, now I can type no problem, but im sure thats like the 1st thing everyone picks up, from comps alone.. I can still type pretty rediculously fast though, a lot faster than other normal ppl I know.. they take so long.. like they're trying to spell the word in their head.. and typing 1 letter at a time.. I could prolly keep up w/ someone talking liek a stynographer (ppl that type spoken dialogue in courtrooms), but its harder when u have to have correct grammar and punctuation.

I suppose BW might has affected my multitasking ability in an overall sense.. I'm constantly thinking what needs to be done, next-step wise, and try to do something that will accomodate the completion of that task while still performing the original.. hand-speed etc, concentration maybe.. that sorta thing..
Other than that.. it's just a game :O
very.... complicated... game..

what is your most weird/funny mistake in real life by the fault of any game?

like when i made a selection box on icons and then right clicked in another part of the screen expecting the icons to move there... I mean that type of "improvement" :D

i think starcraft shattered my attention span - i can't just stay on one thing very long even if it's a movie or something. at the very least i'll be tabbing around and monitoring other programs for the slightest change. i even tab in and out during the build times of my first few workers sometimes, just because watching that progress bar can be so BORING =]

lol I always drag select the folders in a directory and click on each individual ones before clicking into a particular folder

my friends always find it odd that i click control with the bone of my upper right palm (right below the pinkie). i never used to do that before starcraft.
