let's use the + Show Spoiler +
leenock finals games
as a basis for this,

naniwa was trying to play a macro 3+ base game with leenock in each and every game as opposed to how MC tried using his 2-bases to their maximum potential in his latest P v Zs. if that's not an indicator of why he made it so far into the tournament (winning over nestea included) then consider how GOOD he was to be able to make kill-moves on just those two bases while exhibiting the amount of control that he had.

hahahaha, 2 base all ins? or 2 base timing attacks??? he never cut probes at 40 or 45(maybe when he was 10pooled by nestea)... strong solid timing attacks son, i hope day9 talks about those games and many people realize the differences between timing attacks and all ins...even though artosis pretty much explained naniwa's builds

There isn't any definitive distinction other than all-in's being a term for something more risky than timing pushes. It's just an overused term that somehow is synonymous to lack of skill amongst noobs. In fact, anyone reasonable know the importance of balancing builds i.e doing all-ins occasionally as well. It's much more accurate to state that someone who never all-ins is bad than to state the same for someone who does it frequently and makes it work.

What I saw in games from MLG was really good unit control from Naniwa as well as good awareness of different BO timings. I did not see anything suggesting low skilllevel. That's not to say that there isn't room for improvement or that he didn't make mistakes, but it is quite obvious that his play was good.

Why was that user giving a warning for the post? I don't see any official guidelines suggesting that stream threads can't be used for skepticism, and Naniwa has not stated otherwise. The post obviously concerns Naniwa as it is a response to that of another post.

If all Naniwa did was 2base all-ins and he made it to the finals, that alone qualifies as either a) good play or b) terrible adjustments amongst his opponents, which means that it's still better play than them anyway.

Because it's obvious player bashing. You're allowed to criticize Naniwa's play without getting a warning, but you should write better posts than that.

For the record most of Naniwa's games ended while he was on 2-bases but that's because he got into a good position to end the game that early, not because he went all-in every time.

It's just an annoying mantra used to downplay naniwa's (among others) accomplishment. I'm glad TL are eradicating these idiots.

If that is the case, stating that all fans of Naniwa also loves him and that it is due to good play is factually incorrect as I happen to know at least one fan of Naniwa who does not love him.

on topic; My personal opinion is that Naniwa is the first foreigner in code S to have more than 2 % of winning the tournament since Idra. He seems very dedicated and his frustration after initially getting knocked out of code S is a signal thereof. I'm expecting him to most likely make it out of groupstages. =)

I was at the MLG event this weekend, and I gotta say, Naniwa is my new favorite player and I don't even play protoss. His work ethic, game knowledge and determination is one of the best in the game, and his game play was immaculate (until the finals ;_;). I felt like what Artosis said about Naniwa being from the future couldn't have been more true, everything from his building placement to his timings was legit. His personality needs work, but I'm just looking at his game play and knowledge not his personality.

None of this stuff is really on topic. If you wanted o discuss Naniwa, you could do so in his fanclub or something. The only thing ontopic here is that he seems to have deleted his twitch tv account shortly after leaving for MLG. So he might not stream anytime soon unless he makes a new account :p

Since he was already in Sweden for Dreamhack, he decided to take a short break of about a week or two. I think he'll be back in Korea sometime next week to practice for GOM's Blizzard Cup. This probably means he won't be streaming for now, as he'll be spending his time with friends/family.

Why did his stream page completely disappear though. People don't usually delete their stream if not streaming for a couple weeks. Something else must be going on here. I was thinking he took it down in advance of MLG so people couldn't watch his builds practice playing against him, but then it didn't come back after MLG.
