 okaayyy, bad moment. but hes looked pretty good at the Euro Cup... scored 2 goals vs Ireland (yes i know its Ireland)Spain looked balanced with Torres, they look completely flat without any fucking strikers. Its boring and eventually they're gonna lose b.c. they wont score GOALS | ||

Soldado or Llorente seem obvious choices for Spain. You can't rely on Fabregas, Nevas or Alba to be able to deal with one-on-ones and shoulder the pressure. Del Bosque really hopes that he has new Iniestas and Xavis coming through but really I doubt it, I think Spain will fall in the rankings once they are gone. | ||

Even fewer scoring opportunities than many of the previous games. Spain's strategy against Portugal: Foul Ronaldo when he has the ball, then foul Ronaldo when he doesn't have the ball lol. Anyways, congratulation to Spain for getting to the finals. | ||

It wasn't a pretty game in terms of goals or scoring oportunities but it was a great game of tactics and personality.. really intense! anyways when you lose in penaltys you can't be really pissed(unless you are the UK) gg yo we remain the smallest strongest team of the world... ;D | ||

You don't really need a very good dribbler as your advanced forward, who you need there is a guy who knows the right place to be at the right time and can put the ball in the goal regardless of position, facing, number of defenders etc. (vide: Henrik Larsson). Long story short: Dribbling and passing are skills best used in the midfield. Advanced forward usually only needs to touch the ball once, he just needs to make sure this one touch counts (and CR seems incapable of doing that). Conclusion: CR is playing on wrong position and is a showman with delusions of grandeur which doesn't even match his performance. | ||

When Ronaldo went to Madrid at some point he thought he could do anything and that he should be the playmaker. That was very bad. He isn't a Pirlo or a Ozil. He is a winger. He isn't a true striker only. Didn't see where he wasted oppertunities today, except for putting himself last in the penalty shootout. Sounds indeed that when some people see an attack that should be seuccesful they can't see if the problem is Meireles passing the ball wrong or Ronaldo having the wrong first touch. Pretty funny stuff that happens during WC and Euros when everyone suddenly cares about this game lol. | ||

Shooting at goal and praying for the best is what accounts for 146 goals in 144 matches at Real Madrid? I believe Ronaldo is more effective as a winger because at that position he has more freedom to create his own chances and move around the field, whereas it's easier to lock down strikers who are much more dependent on how the ball is delivered to them. | ||

Excatly, 2 good centre backs would shut Ronaldo down all game long. The way Ronaldo is effective is with his pace on counters picking the ball up deep or on the wing and running at players. He can't really do that as an out and out striker. | ||
