I.E. club football is way higher level.

This year was horrible and there have been CL seasons which have been bad before this one, but big tournaments never disappoint!

I would never choose to watch Dortmund in the Champions League over Germany in the EURO/World Cup. I would. Every. Single. Time. Atmosphere in Dortmund is about 5000 times more awesome than in every EURO game I've seen up to now.

So far, so good, although I´m with Kipsate (I like how you taste btw :D) : It could have easily been 2-0 or 3-0, especially that chance that Özil screwed up made me sad... Good thing is: At least Greece can´t go turtle-style anymore, so the game should get more interesting. I´m pretty sure we´ll get to see a few goals more.

Its a bigger deal purely out of the fact that its less frequent, and ofcourse its something larger groups of people can come together as countries to support. Clubs cant manage that. Never will. The current Germany and Spain are somewhat rare cases with fantastic crops of players. The overall level of competition in the CL is massive. The teams are better coached, more time to work together on a consistent basis. i wouldnt say the players are to much better. Since most of them feature in these tournaments aswell, but how they come together as teams is differs significantly and the dutch team is your prime example.

Ok then which club was better than France during Zidane's time? Or which club was better than Brazil during Ronaldo days?

First half, Germany had 74% possession, wow. Edit: one half of the pitch looks like a mess, the other half barely touched ![]()

Or maybe because it's an international event where every fan in an entire country rallies around one team and it's played for national pride?

Better, most beautiful games, most determined games, most hyped games? Definitely final tournaments of Euro or World Cup.

They mostly overlap between 98 and 02. I dont consider the 06 French team a peaking team.
