I'm really happy that I won. I never thought I would win when I started, and I'm crazy happy now that I have!
Your opponent was Life, an infamous player in online play. Did you expect a tough series?
Yes, I consider Life to be an extremely good player. I practiced very hard for this match, and I think I was rewaded for it!
Who helped you practice for this match? Any words for them?
RagnaroK from TSL helped me out. Also, three anonymous gamers helped me out as well, but I can't say who they are~.
You played a very long game on the first map. Do you feel okay about playing super-late game PvZ? Did you ever feel that you were on a timer and had to win quickly?
I think it's about half and half, and the better player wins. It's a bit tricky to play Zergs who turtle with brood lords, and I think Zerg is a little bit better when it goes very late.
In a few sets I did feel pressured to end the game fast. However, I prepared mostly for long games, so besides a couple of games, I think I played my games safely and patiently.
Life exploited your cannon timings to run lings into your base early in a few of the games. Did that affect you a lot?
Yes, it had a huge affect. It took me off balance mentally, and it made me really nervous. I didn't expect him to come with lings that early, and it made me get off to some disadvantageous starts.
Life went for some big attacks on lair tech in a few of the games. Did you expect that kind of play from him?
Yes, I did have it in mind to some degree.
Did Life play the way you expected for the most part?
Hmmm, no it was was very different. He just has such a free-form style, you never know what he's going to do. So his play differed a lot from my expectations.
You only all-ined once, on Metropolis. Was there a particular reason for this?
No particular reason. I just wanted to take at least one game with an all-in.
You used a lot of Stargate play, why was that?
Life enjoys all-in play, so I came with strategies that let me play safely, check what he was doing and react to it accordingly.
What do you think went wrong in the two games you lost?
I think I got messed up by his style. The way he went for pokes and defended was good, it messed me up a lot.
Did you have something prepared for game seven if it went that far?
Honestly I didn't have anything prepared for it. I practiced focusing almost entirely on the first four sets, with a plan to win 4 – 0. In the games after that, I freestyled it.
This is your second big payday after WCS. Any plans on how to spend it?
It's a happy dilemma. I'll give some to my parents and grandparents, and the rest I plan to save.
Many Protoss players are doing well lately. What do you think of your position among them?
I'm very behind in terms of career accomplishments, but in terms of skill, I don't think I'm lacking at all. I think I'm maybe in the top five.
This is off topic, but since the timing happened to work out this way... What do you think of the HOTS beta?
Ah, lol. I don't really have much interest in it right now, though my teammates seem interested.
Anything you want from the expansion?
Hmm... Personally I want to keep playing Wings of Liberty T_T. When HOTS comes out, I'll just have to learn it because there's no other option.
Why's that? The learning curve is too steep?
I think that I'm good at WOL right now. Of course, it could be that I end up being good at HOTS as well. But I'm a little bit afraid I won't get results there, though I'm still confident.
Any final comments?
I'm very happy that I won TSL4. I hope I can get more opportunities like this in the future. Thank you everyone

Completely agree. Creator's answer to the question about HotS is just sad. Then again, toss doesn't seem to have much to look forward to in terms of new units...
On September 09 2012 07:15 Cokefreak wrote: I wonder if those 3 anonymous players helping him train were part of the KeSPA teams... Congratz Creator!
No, it was his mother, father and grandma. They prefer anonymity, but the cash prize distribution gave it away, as they will participate in the payout.
Well done Creator, winning two big tournaments recently. He's becoming a real force in the scene. It's a shame he didn't make it through his up/down group for this GSL season.
to be honest, i was rather disappointed with the level of play. Losing every time like 2 probes to 3 lings running by should not happen, and losing all sentries to 10 lings should not happen either :/ i blame lag

Did you just clicked a post named "Winner's interview" and complain about for spoilers?
Obviously not. How did you get that and I get this?
Eh... use RSS feed >.< That kinda sucks
Or he could just hide spoilers...!?
Nice interview!
Ye just realised that button. Oh well.
Edit: Kinda silly that the option is found underneath the news section or even disabled by default. You'd think putting it in profile options would be better.

mmm hard to say really.
Best PvP is Squirtle at a whopping 73% win rate. Yet there is a massive difference between his PvP and PvT winrates being much lower.
Best PvT is Parting, although Seed's TLPD winrate is higher, most would agree that Parting is the PvT master. Yet he sucks at PvZ.
Best PvZ is Seed at 64% yet his PvP is much lower.
Whereas Creator kind of sits in the middle of everything.
I'd say any of these 4 players are capable of taking GSL championships, with perhaps Parting being the weakest link here. Top protoss for Creator? I guess that depends more on how they play on the day and how little mistakes they make, and of course a bit of luck on who they get in their groups in according to their strengths and weaknesses. But top 5? Definitely. With that being said, I actually am a Creator fan, but also a realist. =[
edit/ I just realized that if you mix all these guys together you actually get the Ultimate Protoss with no weaknesses. STLGIM.PartingSeedCreatorSquirtle.Prime Fighting!
LOL@ the morons who whine about spoilers, yet proceed to a Starcraft NEWS SITE directly after the tournament hosted by THIS very news site is finalized. Are you people born this stupid or do you have to work at it?
After looking at the OSL, WCG, WCS, and GSL interviews, and pretty much any other tournament interview written over the last year, this one is the worst. Boooooring.
Maybe that's just Creator though, and not the fault of the questions. I don't know.
Creator seems very excited ^_^ all 2-line answers. I highly doubt his skill will magically vanish in HotS, and the proscene will switch to hotS when it comes out unless it's godawful.
GG WP. Gotta say that i wasnt that excited from the tsl finals as i tought i would be when the tsl started. Would have been nice to see some foreigner in the finals .
What I fear is when HotS comes everything will be unbalanced again and it will take maybe 2 years before it's balanced, hope we can keep playing WoL for a while until HotS is balanced.
"RagnaroK from TSL helped me out. Also, three anonymous gamers helped me out as well, but I can't say who they are~."
There's a player in my league on NA named CreatorPrime. I am in Masters but I assumed it was a fake. I checked his match history and he had pages of games against the real TSLRagnaroK. So, I'm higher ranked than Creator. Can I have a cookie now?
So how did peoples TSL4 predictions turn out? I actually did pick Creator as the winner but that's about where my victory ends, think I only got about 50% of the matches right
On September 09 2012 13:05 Labil wrote: Dull interview.. Anyway, did anyone catch the peak viewer count? I'm guessing its aaaaaalot worse then last year yes?
For sure. I'm the beginning of the third/fourth playoff, there was about 10k people watching. In the first round of TSL3, NaDa vs TheLittleOne was about 50k people.
@Topic
Congratz to Creator. Even if i didn't watch the TSL4 at all, It's cool to seee more protosses rising.

Congrats Creator!
HotS will never be balanced if tournaments don't play it. The switch should be made as soon as possible, so the inevitable problems will be washed away soon.
so happy for creator. he finally shows his talent. alot pros consider him one of the most talented protoss players out there. he just choked always when he had to win important games, like last code s seasons. glad he put this behind and nailed this big success of wcs and tsl4. this should give him a real boost in confidence.
Its interesting that he says how he is afraid he won't get good results in HOTS, I feel like this is a real issue that no one has really talked about, HoTS is going to upheave the meta game to such a huge extent it will be interesting to see if the same players are successfull of if a new breed of hoTs players will rise up, honestly i doubt it will change that much but it is interesting to think about especially considering the WOL expansion is still being figured out and now its almost gone... Grats to creator he is very good ive been a fan for a while.
