The TeamLiquid Starleague 4 begins this Saturday with our first set of four matches, and we’re ready to show off the bracket for all to see. The bracket was created by seeding the players 1-32 based on a combination of their TSL4 Qualifier Results and their TLPD Elo ranking. The process was as follows.
Seeded top 3 finishers from TSL3
Sorted KR winners by Korean TLPD rank
Sorted EU/NA winners by International TLPD rank
Sorted KR point qualifiers by TSL4 points*
Sorted EU/NA point qualifiers by TSL4 points
Ranked all players, qualifier winners first, then point qualifiers
*ST_Squirtle and SlayerSCoCa ended in a tie in TSL4 points, which was broken via GSL ranking
From here we seeded them by alternating between KR and EU/NA qualifiers, with the winners first and the point qualifiers after.

Mana has number 17 on the bracket and 11 on the list. Ret 11 on bracket and 13 on list. Welmu 13 on bracket and 17 on list. I dont know really. Either i mistunderstood something, or theres some incostistency between seed list and bracket.

Who has been living in Korea since forever so he shouldn't really count. SeleCT does live in North America so you do have one player to represent your region. We in Europe are happy with our 15 players (not counting europeans that live in korea or koreans that live in europe)

The format is for so that players can plan matches over a long period of time to get more a story line, like what the old BW pro leagues did. Having it all at the same time like MLG kind of defeats the purpose.

A lot of different teams qualified: 3xStarTale 2x Liquid 2x mouz 2x Empire 2x Quantic only 1x EG player and he will be eliminated by mouz i bet!
what will the shipping for the poster to germany cost ? and i know its more twitch's concern, are there any improvemtns in twitchs infrastructe to expect? i am not able to watch any 1080p streams on twitch since about 6-7 months on twitch - which would actually be the main reason for me to get tsl+
So I made my prelimenary bracket, and I don't see a scenario where Naniwa doesn't make it to the semi-finals. He definitely lucked out with the easiest quadrant. He's an obvious favorite to take the whole thing.
I'm having the most trouble with the three ST players in the upper-right. There's a lot of scenarios where they'll be playing each other. Anyone have an opinion on how these players do against their own teammates (Life, Squirtle, Curious)?
All 4 sides of the bracket are pretty easy to predict except for the first one First one: not even gona try. Second: TaeJa Third: Squirtle Fourth: Naniwa

I'm not sure, but Life always seems to do some sort of cheesy stuff and Squirtle has a pretty good pvz record overall. I'd put Squirtle ahead but can't rank Curious and Life.
I really dislike those brackets.....especially how SaSe has to play Coca so early, he always seems to get people he would rather avoid really early on in tournaments, other then that I am excited =D
I really like the freemium idea and this isn't to shit on other tournies' subscriber packages, but jesus is it me or does TSL+ seem like an absolute deal here? HD and no ads which has been standard subscriber for a while now, but also some giftbag/swag stuff and discounts on TL gear

It`s a game, everybody makes far fetched assumptions so if anyone gets lucky he can brag about it FOREVER. Anyway I would think that Babyknight has the best chance of pulling a ''Thorzain'' in this TSL.

He tried his strenght in two qualifiers, once he got knocked out, second time he was doing good but had to go to play MSI Pro Cup (his team organizes that) and he forfeited his matches. Funny thing is he forgot his laptop battery or something and couldnt play in MSI Pro Cup either

He did well in his qualifier. TSL seems to always bring out the best in foreigners. It's all online play til the finals which means he shouldn't be nervous at all. Yes, I think Vortix stands a great chance to make it that far.
The most interesting match in r32 is actually Vortix vs BabyKnight. I think at the moment they are ranked 1 and 2 on EU GM ladder. Interesting story to see who can put who down. As a dane I'm sad to see so many putting their faith in Vortix when I think BabyKnight is equally good.
No!!!! Not Squirtle v. Ret in the first round. Talk about breaking my heart. It'll be very interesting to see some of the EU players against the KR players since alot of the Koreans this time around aren't the usual foreign event travelers.
I wouldnt be surpirsed to see most people playing from korean knocked out quite early caues of the lagging. someone like Nericho will probably take the tournament!

Hmm. Taeja landed a pretty damn easy bracket for himself. 3 of the 4 ST players in 1 quarter of the bracket. Top left and top right are the toughest parts of the bracket for sure, probably top left a little moreso.
Anyone else think keen coulda just taken a bye into the semifinals? Then again, people said the same things bout Nestea in TSL 3 so temper your expectations guys

Wow, excited for TSL4. TSL has always seemed to be the tournament where foreigners have some chances against koreans. Definitely looking forward to seeing how they perform.

Aww man, Jonny got matched up against Naniwa? That's a tough break, I really want him to do well but I'm fearful he won't make it past the first round. I reckon Vortix could do very well in this tournament, I'm confident he'll make the round of 8.

I apologize in advance if this has been answered already or if I misread anything on TSL4, but I've been searching through Liquipedia and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Apparently the finals will be held live in New York and I live in Manhattan, is this an event I can attend in person? And is it only the grand finals or will they also host the semifinals or any other rounds live? Thanks!!! If someone knows where I can find information on this I would greatly appreciate it!

I realize it's unlikely that any foreigner will take games off Koreans here, but if upsets happen, they happen at TSL. My personal little dream would be another Thorzain vs Naniwa finals. Taken to the last map. Oh yeaaah.

Agree with this person, Ret and SaSe are going to have a hard time. Naniwa's road seems to hit of at a good start atleast, that of Thorzain aswell.

I'm not buying VortiX nor Creator, and people have no confidence in Ret, I think he'll beat Squirtle if he comes out with the right mindset.
creator/squirtle are both top 5 protoss in the world right now, rets pretty decent but he is definitly the underdog going into that match, while creator has the hardest bracket but still is a great pick to advance. also vortix is pretty decent, and he did not get an incredibly hard bracket side. naniwa will have a chance to reach top 3 easily becuz his side of the brackets is the easiest, however never count out keen and hyun.
Taeja has a ridiculously nice bracket. Beyond his first game I think liquid should set his goal for a finals spot anything less might be a disappointment for such a star.
I like the fact that there are players from all sorts of teams. Also, Ret will have to face Squirtle in his first round... must have faith! I'm rooting for Ret this TSL!
HyuN is imo so underrated it hurts, I don't see anyone stopping him before ro4, he could very well win the whole thing though Life ZvZ is presumably godtier.
Really excited for this! TSL's are always fauvorite Nerchio is going to win since stephano isn't there. Other than him I'm rooting for thorzain, babyknight and Taeja!
