The fourth TeamLiquid StarLeague is fast approaching, and the first round of qualifiers will start after MLG Anaheim concludes. Next week, from June twelfth to fourteenth, will see the first round of events whose winners will be awarded spots in TSL4.
We're pleased to announce that, with just under a week until the first tournaments begin, registration is open for all events.
Registration
To register, click on the TL Open link under the events tab on the top bar, and then navigate to the register portion. From there you can read the rules and enter with your battle.net account information as well as race.
Remember that you can play in either the North America and Europe events, OR those in Korea, but not both. To read more about the two halves of the qualifiers see our previous post.
Dates
Here is the full schedule of all the TSL Qualifiers. You can find full information regarding eligibility and what maps will be used here. After the qualifiers finish, the first broadcast of the Round of 32 will be July 21.
Good luck!

Is it just me or are the NA qualifiers ridiculously early compared to the other qualifiers in their respective timezones while also being in the middle of the week?

yeah that's kinda annoying if you sleep real late or have to work x.x
Oh wow, it is stacked. Legendary Waxangel signing up to win this!
There ya go, updated with the other servers
Is ljh711 MarineKing? I think I read somewhere that that's his tl account. All the other Prime players have signed up so it makes sense for him to be there as well.

Since the NA and Europe qualifiers pool from the same people they have to be at times that are decent for both areas is my guess. If they started the NA qualifiers at 6pm local time (especially if they went with PDT) then Europe would be playing really late into the night. When you're appeasing two regions both of them get shafted a little bit sadly.
This is awesome, a tournament where almost all the players have to qualify, much better way to run tournaments if you want to new players to gain attention and sponsorships. Team Liquid doing it right! (as usual)
I am sad they made it all for the pros and semi or amateurs with jobs have no chance to participate. Was one of the great aspects of TSL3 and weekend matches. Now its catered to the pros more.
I guess there is a lot of fanbase now for pros since last TSL...but still enjoyed it on the weekends to watch and join.
And that made me think, I will miss the first 6 hours of watching it also. =/
Yeah, this kinda sucks for those of us with jobs. At least alternate it so that it isn't ALWAYS wednesday in the NA. Some of us have other days of the week off...
I just love TLOpens. Plus i get to play in them as well and get crushed, even better. So cool that there is now a Korean one as well! That could be the most stacked tourney ever if they all sign up.
Coverage is probably like all previous TSL's. Meaning the first few rounds of the qualifiers will be casted by comunity members who want to cast them (if I remember correctly you have to sign up in front and be approved by TL staff) and then starting the quarter or semifinal of the qualifiers the casting will be done by the team of procasters that was announced.

they cant be convienient for everyone...you can either do them or you cant :/
Question: How can you sign up for both EU and NA qualifiers if your NA and EU account are different ID/Char Codes, I can't seem to change one without changing the other.
so i suck at this game...i am in gold league. can i still register? because i think it would be awesome to get destroyed by a good player:-) idk maybe i am weird

Set your timezone in your profile and it will appear in that time.

Go to your Profile and select your time zone. The times will then appear in your local time.
Those are some weird times R1CH. Most people are at work or school at 11:00AM EST. I guess you guys want to avoid weekends because of all the big tournaments.
damn... i can't make it with these times. I used to like the weekends but now i can't participate. if you will do it weekly please do some later times for NA

Of course! That's what the TSL is all about.
If that's what it's all about, how come anyone who has any responsibilities during the day are being barred from competing? 11am eastern is pretty prohibitive to anyone with a day job.

Yup, good for full-time pro players though! ;D
I really do miss the TSL Ladder sessions. Those were so much more fun than this crap but Blizzard gave them 0 options. This is one of the only ways. -_-

Reposting this, as no one has answered it so far
It's a goof and will be fixed before the second week of qualifiers. This week, just edit your details to EU first, then change them after to NA.

Yeah, unfortunately we can't please everybody. It's really tough to make sure all pros have a chance and aren't penalized for going to too much stuff and doing well in too many tournaments. At the same time, obviously we want to give everyone a chance to make it. For TSL4, obviously we decided to go a little more in favor of the pros. It'd be nice if Blizzard gave us some way to run a custom ladder.
I feel sorry for anyone that tries to gain points on the KR qualifier.
I don't get it though, each TSL qualifier is played only in the morning for NA qualifiers? So if you actually work during the day you have to take vacation time or something to participate? For example CST time would be 9 AM on a Tuesday to signup and 10 AM when the tourny starts. >,<

EDIT: You updated your post so I'll re-edit.
Not sure what time it is for you, but closest to my timezone is KR which plays at 6pm local time (night).
The times are very dependent upon where you live, it's pretty hard to please everyone, though I find it 'interesting' (read: odd) that EU and NA qualifiers have the same start time on different days. How does that equate for timezones of the areas?
EDIT2: @Below: yes, but the whole point of TSL is that anyone can sign up. It would have been nice if they could have allowed for some slight variations in start times I guess, but when it comes to timezones it's hard to please everyone.

I don't get it though... you only get ONE HOUR to sign in for the NA/EU/KR qualifiers? I thought in TSL 2 (BW) you could sign in and play your matches at your leisure. TSL 4 it looks like you have a small window to sign in and then you immediately have to play your matches like in the next hour or two. Amirite or wrong?
I was going to signup but the sign in window and tournament starts while I'm at work...
Sounds right. Just leaving people to play at their leisure would mean each qualifier could take days right?
Meaning entire tournament would take months and most likely people would disappear without constraints. TSL3 was more like this setup I believe also.
lol you got me before I could finish editing my post, but it makes sense now that I think about it from a pro player view.
Is there a BNet channel that everyone will be joining? TSL4 seems obvious, but not sure if anyone will be using them.
Just a side note the "Announcement Thread" link on the TSL Qualifier #1 EU - Tournament Information page just links directly to www.teamliquid.net. Not a big deal obviously.

Oh shi- DRG? Oh well that's that then.
But really, online qualifiers for KR? It's actually almost anyones game. It's so stacked that Code S players could easily be ousted in a Bo1 against Code S players. Hoping for good streams on them tonight.
I have this niggling worry that there's not enough coverage regarding the TSL qualifiers. Like, weren't interviews and recaps of the qualifiers last time up in the matter of a day or less?
Are they trying to do all qualifiers in one news post? I'd actually hate that. I want to see Daisy and Nericho get their own headline of fame, interview and analysis not just a LR thread. We'll see, but I'm just not seeing as much TL hype as I would expect...maybe over-expectations?
I'm sad that I get tuesday's off work but don't have access to the EU server! bah humbug. Though I'm sure it would not be worth the logistical confusion to alternate which servers are on which days, so I'm okay with not being able to participate (it's not like i'd win any games anyway haha).
Hey so I don't want to pester you guys with questions, but what do you mean you check in via the tournament system? When I log on to sc will there be a clear link or something to go to, or will there be another thread on here that I have to post in, or do I have to join a certain channel, like TSL4? Thanks! I'm a tournament nooby
