I feel like he's only invited because he happens to be on Liquid.

This player should have to take his chances to qualify with the other players, however I doubt he would be able to considering the quality of players in those qualifiers.

I am PUMPED to see some games between the koreans and the euro/americans tho. This will be so cool!

huk having 2 accounts in the korean ladder ranked 5th and 6th respectively is quite a good achievement

Considering he didnt have a chance to qualify im not going to complain and sure TL is right to invite players on their team to give them exposure.

However it is my personal opinion based on what i've seen in HuKs games that he has a far far way to go before I could consider him to even be a able to compete with the best european and american based players.

That's why I reacted when I saw he was invited. As I dont think he would have a good chance to qualify if he was forced to go through qualifiers.

Which games have you seen? If you haven't been watching his stream very recently, you probably should, or you can't speak in an informed way about Huk. He's extremely good.

Well people have been saying that here on team liquid for a long time even tho HuK's games has show a enormous lack of planning and fundamentals.
His mechanics seems to be very strong tho and thats why he was able to bash through alot of players in the beginning with a style that was obviously just going to be good at killing people who didnt know what they were doing exactly, or had not spent enough time and practice to actually figure out smart ways to play yet...

Now that you actually have to play well to get anywhere and people dont die from colossus just attacking on random timings HuK cant get ANYWHERE!? All ive seen is very poor planning, very poor decision making and fundamental errors from HuK.

In my opinion he is uncompareable to players like DIMAGA, SjoW, White-Ra, Tarson etc... those guys are many levels above HuK in my eyes.

Are we to understand that, in TL's estimation, Huk makes a better addition to the tournament than Tester?

I think it is an excellent selection of players.
Huk is a player that everyone knows about. He has shown improved play after being in Korea for so long. This looks like Huks big chance to throw down with the big names again and to prove himself.

I'm ecstatic that they got MC, his play is so entertaining to watch. He will be one of the strongest players of the entire tournament.

Genius is a strong player with some major tournament wins behind him, but his play in the GSL was a bit lacking. I'm hoping he can impress me with he part in this tournament.

Many people are doubting that the other big Korean teams will allow their players to participate in the TSL but imo why wouldnt the want the foreign exposure? Many teams are getting a "token Foreigner" on their team , why wouldnt they want to participate in the biggest tournament outside Korea (single tourny, not including MLG) Winning this tournament would be a very prestigious reward for the team involved

Yeah HuK! Why you so bad? But really. No. Just No. Just NOOOO. Tester has successfully done jack in GSL 2-5 he has very little chance at succeeding here. Huk actually takes up 3 of the spots on a global top 100. 2 of those spots are from korea. And he's in code A. Good enough for me.

Because he earned Code A right?(don't get me wrong I'm a fan...) That aside I think HuK's a perfectly good choice for TSL 3, Tester is the only toss not on here that I was expecting to be invited. That being said I'm super excited about TSL 3!

The HuK fanboyism on this site is really absurd. I get that people like to root for the home team and foreigners and everything, but HuK has been lackluster in every big tournament outside of MLG Raleigh, the weakest of the MLG (itself a 2nd tier event) tournies last year. His ladder score doesn't really make up for that.

Tester made 2 GSL Ro8's, HuK hasn't qualified once.

Rofl :D

Great lineup, should be fun to watch. Huk has earned every bit of it. Topping the European ladder in less than 4 days? Oh, okay.

Agreed. HuK is an amazing player, but for one to say that tester has little chance of succeeding in the GSL, and saying that he has done jack in GSL 2-5 even though he got to the RO8 in the last GSL, losing to the eventual victor is kind of silly.

We all know HuK is a sick sick player, but too many are on the HuK bandwagon in my opinion, to automatically and blindly assume that HuK has more of a chance succeeding in a place where he hasn't shown himself really in tournaments (Korea), than a person who has proved time and time again that he is among the top tier of players in the world by both competing and getting very high up in korean tournaments is absurd

erm what is this elgren guy on about? please tell us about some games where huk has played 'terribly' imo huk is probs one of the bbest protoss players in the world right now, living in the ogs house in korea, practicing like crazy. its very evident in the games he streams and all his ladder rankings.

In my opinion he is uncompareable to players like DIMAGA, SjoW, White-Ra, Tarson etc... those guys are many levels above HuK in my eyes.

this guy knows what hes talking about. quite obvious i will never b on the same lvl as these other forgeignors

You could look it like this: HuK has failed to quailfy for GSL twice, so has Tester.
Hehe.

i really hope Nada, MVP and Jinro get the terran invite.
Let a man play chess, and tell him that every pawn is his friend. Let him think both bishops holy. Let him remember happy days in the shadows of his castles. Let him love his queen. Watch him lose them all.
